Hello Folks,

Recently my friend created a f2p account. When creating the account we told him to join Fort Aspenwood so he could play WvW later on. He enjoyed the game so much he purchased the expansion unlocking his account. Once he hit lvl 31 we went into the WvW EoTM to lvl and show him the ropes. We did this for about 3 weeks off an on. A couple days ago we jumped into the EoTM to see if a train was running. He for some reason asked if we switched sides, as it looked different to him. When I loaded into EoTM he was on the other team. I told him to logout and go to world selection. When he did this he was on Sanctum or Rall, which is weird as he created his account under Fort Aspenwood and has been playing WvW with me and other friends for the last few weeks.

He ended up creating a ticket and support told him he was up the creek and there was no transfers on his account. He wasn’t guesting as I was on TS with him when he originally made his account and I made sure he was on Fort Aspenwood (when I asked him about guesting he didnt know what I was talking about). Clearly he is kittened off as he just purchased the full game and some extra gems to unlock bank tabs etc. I know he can still play PVE and everything else but we play a lot of WvW EoTM to lvl and run trains.

My question to you is has this ever happened to anyone/Does anyone know why it would just randomly switch you home worlds.

GW2 support had no info on this and basically told him to deal with it, I was looking for people input to see if this has ever happened to anyone else.

If he upgraded his account from F2P to a full account, I think (don’t hold me to it) that you are allowed a free server transfer.

It’s quite possible he transferred servers with that free one. Instead of asking support to switch servers, he should ask in his ticket when the last server transfer was.

That’s really the only thing I can see.

According to support there was no transfer, which is weird as to why he was on Fort Aspenwood and somehow is now on Sanctum of Rall.

If support doesn’t see a transfer, then it’s possible he never actually was on Fort Aspenwood, and you guys could still EOTM as both servers were the same colour each week.

Unless you were directly beside him when he selected the server, it’s really quite possible he never was.

If your friend wishes to transfer to Fort Aspenwood (and it is not Full), he can use his one free transfer (if still available), or he can, at any time, delete all his characters and transfer at no cost, once every 7 days.

Your friend could also update his ticket and have someone take another look; sometimes the Team member is new or misinformed. It’s always worth a try.
