Q:
Randomly stuck at 24 FPS
There’s an option in the games settings to limit FPS, maybe check that you haven’t accidentally set that to 24?
This could be completely unrelated but the latest Nvidia drivers were causing me 20ish frames & especially when I opened the map.
Very odd. I’m using the 359.06 drivers with great success.
Yep I checked the option to limit FPS, it’s off.. Tried to turn in to 60 fps, same problem..
I’m using the latest nvidia driver, but I had this problem before installing it.
The strange thing is : it’s completely random, sometimes I can play right away at ~90 FPS and sometimes I have to restart the game/my computer 2 or 3 times, I don’t get it.
Sounds lots like the PCI-E x1/x4 “bug”(for lack of a better term) that has been going around.
Download GPU-Z, start it up and take a screenshot like this when your FPS is “randomly” low.
I’m willing to bet your GPU isnt going into x16 lane speed.
Ok I took a picture with GPU-Z :

Didn’t find how to get the left window you have in your capture…
Please tell me you have a solution !
That’s CPU-Z, it’s a similar diagnostic but it’s unneeded in this(and most) situations.
The problem is your “Bus Interface”, the motherboard is capable of PCI-E 3.0 x16 but what it’s showing while running is PCI-E 1.1 x16 which is severely limiting your bandwidth.
Try pulling the video card out and putting it back in, “Re-seating”. It usually solves the issue.
I did a “re-seating”, and now GPU-Z shows PCI-E 3.0 !
Tried to start the game and it’s running well for the moment, i’ll keep you in touch to tell if the problem comes back… but for the moment it seems like it’s solved, thank you so much !!
Edit : uhhh, spoke too fast, I started the game a few times and it’s back at 24 fps… cry in a corner
