Guild Wars 2

Just installed GW2 and straight away my mouse pointer would lose the left/right axis or freeze in place all together in game and now out of game which it worked perfectly before. All buttons work ok
I’m using the synapse 2.0 fully updated and cant find a solution.
Any help would be appreciated

Is the firmware fully updated?

I’m using Naga myself and dont have this problem, just make sure the mouse in the Synapse has enough DPI set under performance tab, see what is he’s polling frequency.

But if you say it happens out of the game as well, I would definetly say its either synapse problem or mouse problem. Try unninstalling synapse as well if the problem persists, but first try those two options I mentioned before!

If the problem still persists even after unninstalling synapse then maybe your mouse is on its way out. :/

Canstribe,your lens is dirty..trust me on this one ! Take a earstick, a
q tip ? Whatever ( you know those little things to clean your ears with ,sorry if im not using the correct english word ). And SOFTLY clean out the lens of your naga,blowing in it may also help.If dirt,dust collects there,you get the problem you have right now ,stopping to go left,or right etc.This will make your mouse feel soo smooth again.

PS:i had a friend almost throw away his naga because he thought it was broken,Then i said this trick and it cured the problem.

Also make sure you keep your mousepad nice and clean so this wont happen to often.

I know, I’m sorry. Let me re-state it. I don’t have issues with my Naga, it appears to function normally with this game. My advice is the same as posted above, clean the lense, update the drivers using synapse. If that fails, completely uninstall drivers and synapse and re-install.

Yeah no prob And indeed,i’m Positive it’s just collecting dust,i have the same as the OP describes from time to time.

Working through the solutions and I have cleaned the lens well and still get the same problem.
Trying to uninstall the drivers I noticed the old Naga driver still on and when I try to uninstall that it comes up with
Error 1316 Anetwork error occured while attempting to read from file C:\Windows\Installer\Razor Naga.msi
The only way to get the mouse to work again for short periods is unplug and plug back in.
Dpi 1000 and polling rate 500

Make sure you update the firmware too. I had some problems with mine before I did that.

Ah..This message usually means a previous installation of a software is getting in the way of the new installation.Its a windows problem, please go here and download MS Fix it ,to maybe fix your issue. http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall?ln=nl

MS Fix it removed the old naga drivers.
Firmware is up to date I believe v1.13
Reinstalled the synapse and it says it is fully updated
Cleaned the lens again
But still getting the same problem.

Hmm that’s strange,the freeze from left to right is in 99% usually really just dust and it Could be that there is some huge chunk stuck in between.Try blowing really hard into the lense since im still thinking its just dust.Otherwise since you say your on latest firmware,latest synapse,iom out of guesses..maybe try another USB port see how that helps..Or perhaps reinstall your usb drivers ( On my pc i have to install Asmedia for Usb 3.0 )

Is GW2 the only game where this issue occurs?

Pretty strange, actually. The only issue with Naga I have atm, it that Synapse software updated itself like 3 times in the last week, and now the options screen pops up every time PC is rebooted (which is annoying).

I was gaming with it on Diablo 3 the night before I installed and played GW2 with no problems at all.
I’m not sure how to go about updating the usb drivers ?
