Hello Anet tech team and players:

This is in response to Ebon’s Freezing/Crashing thread and the other threads from players experiencing a couple minutes of gameplay, the screen then freezing or going black/blue, continued game sound for a sec or two, and the game crashing, with sometimes the only way of getting access back to your computer being a hard reset.

I had this problem this morning and was able to narrow it down to Windows 7/Windows Update trying and failing to install a new Nvidia driver. Look at your Windows Update log to see if you have a failed Nvidia update. Windows has a bit of a reputation of sometimes not always installing drivers correctly. So I went to Nvidia’s site and manually downloaded and installed the newest driver. Now the game runs perfectly fine again.

Please anyone experiencing this or similar issues give this a shot, especially if you’re running Windows 7 and are using Nvidia video cards.
