Speaking for one of my best friends, because he was recently banned for “Botting”. I know him and he doesn’t “bot”. The only “third party” program we use is TS3. We know that there is a warning when installing TS3, because some games might consider it to be a cheating program.

On another note. Banning an account because of suspicious behavior is ok, I see why. But banning an account WITHOUT notifing the account holder that somethings up with their account and that they should look into it, is just not right.

He has already sent in a ticket to be reviewed. Just hoping that ANET can see that this is a major issue and hope this gets resolved for everyone.

Dont worry it’s not the first time Anet have done this and it wont be the last, we have a guild member, who played GW1 for 6 years completed HoM, had GW2 from the start and was banned yesterday for apparently botting, he has never botted in his life, at the age of 62 he is unlikely to be a botter, we can only assume it was because he was in one area for a number or days at the same spot getting his achievements in weapon mastery, he only moved to do his dailies or sell junk. Now if anet thinks this is botting then most players at cursed shore at pen and shelt should be banned for the same thing. Ticket has been submitted and hopefully guildie will get his account back

We identified a database error that resulted in a false-positive related to about a dozen game accounts. All have been reinstated, and that may include your friend’s account. If not, please post an update in this thread. I will be watching for new posts so that we can address this right away.
