It’s a name i started to use 21 years ago. So today , yes , you may well be right, but now it’s a matter of principle. This why i said i’ll be happy with Flaming.
Then make ticket like I say and ask support.
You agreed to the Terms Of Service when you signed up to play the game. Your original name is against the TOS. You may be able to get your new name changed if you file a support ticket.
As Quigi points out, you’ll need to create a support ticket. If your name was changed without warning and you weren’t asked to select a new one then you should have contacted support and requested that it be changed to something specific, or asked for clarification on their action.
Name based decisions usually occur based on reports from people in the GW2 community, so just because there are people running around with similar names to what you had doesn’t make those names now acceptable. It just means nobody has reported those people. Arenanet do not personally review every single account or character name, they rely on people reporting those that are found offensive.

But what OP say is now ProHeals (Michael Henninger game support lead) now say on reddit it okay to have a name with thing like fart. I do not agree with this because I think such name immature but Michael Henninger say it okay now so this why OP ask because their name change before Michael say this. But OP still need to make ticket and ask.

Yeah ticket done so wait and see.
BTW , We talk about a account name here not a character name. I doubt I’ll create and play a character with that sort of name. All i asked in the ticket is to get my original account name back. ( display name )
did you try to make a play on words with yours? funny.

I’m not aware of any pun in my name?
I’m doubtful that they’ll change your account/display name back to what it was. Account names still have to adhere to the same requirements as character names since they’re visible to others. Hopefully they’ll allow you to select a new display name though.

That’s thing. ANet NOW allows for characters to be named Flaming Farts.
They did not when they changed his account name.
Since they’ve now changed the policy, the OP is wondering if he can get his original account name back since it’s not against the rules anymore.
It’s always been in the naming policy that references to inappropriate bodily functions are against the rules when naming. Guilds and other character names with this particular bodily function have had to have a rename.
Character names get acted upon when other players report the name via right click. If other characters have that name, it’s because nobody has right-clicked and reported them for it, not because ArenaNet have suddenly started to allow it.

unfortunately you’re wrong , rules have changed. I got an answer for my ticket and the way i interpret this is if changing the display name was allowed i could have my name back. I can probably buy a new account and call it Flamingfarts if i want to and neved get suspended.
ticket answer in the spoiler tag
GM MagicalPotato here. Thanks for contacting the GW2 Support Team.
Sadly, display names and character names are different. Due to the number of things that can go wrong, we only change display names in the most extreme of circumstances. Unfortunately, in this particular case, as much as I wish I was able to give you FlamingFarts as your account’s display name, I sadly cannot

GM MagicalPotato
I wasn’t even aware of this change but the quote from the ‘boss’ in that thread pretty much sums up how I feel about the direction this game is going for the longest time. ‘Not my problem’.
And I think this change, clearly because of the F2P influx of players, is garbage. But at least I get yet another reason to hide all player names by default.
