That’s the probem with pre-built computers – they call it a gaming compuer and put a GT 640 in there? Say what? And a stock 6100.
And the HP has a decent CPU but the GT 620 is not good enough to run GW2 very well.
But what is your current computer? Because without knowing that its impossible to know how much of an improvement you will see.
And what do you expect? To run everything on high? Med? And at what resolution?

Well the GT 640 is better than the integrated Intel one in their i3 so to they average consumer it is better at gaming. Plus it’s not just a rectangular black box. It has a window and lights up and the keyboard has the arrow and WASD keys in red. That’s the thing about box store gaming computers. It’s like the sporty edition of an economy car. Yes it’s faster, yes they gave it some aerodynamic skirt pieces, a sexier paint job and lower profile tires on fancy rims but nobody is going to confuse it’s performance with a true sports car.
Most of the time the reason a low end card is being used is because of the extremely low end power supply that the system is built around. They are just barely above the requirements the equipment in the box needs so it’s not uncommon to find older designed 250 and 300 watt PSUs with sub par 12 volt wattage. But they buy them by the shipping container for like $5-10 a unit.

I was going to say wait for Intel’s new processors (codenamed Haswell) to come out before making a purchase, but then I saw that you wanted to buy a prebuilt computer for 600 bucks that plays GW2 on high…
Like Johje Holan said, what resolution do you want to run the game at and how much FPS do you want when playing the different modes of the game. With 600 bucks you’re going to be hard pressed to find a CPU and GPU that can do WvW (worst case scenario with 100+ people) at 25FPS without overclocking. Realistically, if you can’t take apart your old rig and use it’s hard drive so you don’t have to buy/acquire another copy of windows then you need to raise your budget to 700 or so. Even then it’s going to be tight.

This will run the game better than what you are looking at. Get a tech savey friend to overclock the processor up to 4.0GHz or so. FX6300 and a 7770 video card.

When the box pops up saying can not show it just click ok and it will show the build. $689

thank you everyone for your input and insight. I am embarrassed to say I’m using an Alienware m11x r2. Which is a small “gaming” laptop and I’ve come to realize that the titel of a gaming anything is just a marketing scheme. Needless to say it’s not so good for this game. I would want to run everything on med-high at a consistent fps. I’m going to check out this one zerk posted
Also, how do you guys feel about dell? I do have a 2500 credit line with them to ball out, although I do understand they are overpriced
Hello my current system doesn’t run the game too well so I’m looking at getting a desktop to run the game on high settings
I don’t want to spend too much, and want to get something that I can possibly upgrade
I don’t know too much about computers tbh and am not interested in building one as I’d much rather finance a ready made one.
These are two I’ve been looking at but I need a second opinion and possible suggestions with a similar price.
and the other
You would be much better off with going to a Pc store where you can buy your own parts.Get some advice and let them put it together, you WIll save money, you Will have better hardware components, and when something breaks or you want it replace it,you dont have to spend a ton of money on “Brand” parts.I would never..ever..ever recommend someone to buy a all in one , Dell/Hp or whatever.

Personally I tend to avoid prebuilt computers like the plague from any manufacturer. However, if you have 2.5k you have to blow on dell, take advantage of it.
