i recently recovered my account after it was hacked and banned for gold selling. When i was able to get back ingame. i contacted a friend i gained through the forums in which his account had been banned for the same reasons and he also recovered his account. I noticed i had a new ingame follower ,this follower also following my hacked friend. My wife almost lost her account as well by following a false link claiming to be from arenanet through her ingame mail.. and she is also being followed by this person. I cann’t say his name as i will be infracted on the forums (LESSON LEARNED) but now i have most likely the hacker following me, my wife and my new friend . I sent a more detailed description to support to help determine if this guy was the source of our hacks but they replied with an answer to a completely different issue and yes it was obvious copy and paste. I need someone from the staff to message me privately so i can release this name to someone willing to actually investigate this .

If you block them, they can no longer follow you. Also, that account might be compromised as well. Hackers rarely buy their own accounts, they just compromise others. (Which is why it is against the rules to name publicly.)

You likely won’t get a PM, try updating your original ticket about the matter. Remember, the CS Team will never divulge information about actions taken on other accounts.

I’m actually not worried about them following me. My point is i know the hackers account and even if it is another hacked account why just sit by and let this guy get away with it when i have knowledge to ban or even begin the steps to recover another hacked account.. i can’t say the name of this account but i researched it and it’s in the top 50 for achievement points. Now either some extremely hard working gamer lost his account or that’s a hackers main account. Either way i wouldn’t understand why Game staff won’t take action here.

If you think you have something to report such as that, then you need to continue your dialog with support by updating your ticket. That’s all you can do. CS can only use the information you provide them, however they will not share with you any actions taken against another account. Posting here about it will not result in anything.

CS has proven unhelpful. i have reported this in much more detail to help the situation and the only reply i got back was a copy/pasted message for a situation not even related to this. I am sure there are people that are willing to see this through but i was obviously put aside in my ticket. CS isn’t helping and the forums is my only other option. If this doesn’t work i won’t have any offense toward this hacker and even with information that could hinder him he will just be let go freely to hack more accounts. Even if this is an alt account following me, this guy is on daily and he is building up AP. he isn’t just sucking the account dry of resources, he’s using it. Understand my account is safe and i am no longer worried about it. I do however have possible evidence to the hackers primary account or a hacked account belonging to a loyal gamer. Something needs to be done other than copy and paste answers.

After you got the “copy and paste” reply from CS, did you update your ticket with more information by replying to the email they sent you? If so did you try to clarify the purpose of your support request? If not that is what you need to do. That is how you update a ticket, especially if the reply is not to your satisfaction.

No. i put all the information i had into my first notice. everything i had. names. internet websites linking the account name to hackers. absolutly everything i had to permit investigation was poured into my first ticket, only to get a pasted message about how to better report ingame mail spam in the future?.. i write reports for a living. i know how to inform. i put everything into that ticket and it was ignored completely. as it seems my it is being ignored again except by fellow gamers which i thank all of you for trying to help. it’s just a little disheartening to learn that this guy is seemingly going to get away while i’m shaking proof in arenanets face

The support agents don’t read the forums. The ONLY way to contact support is through the ticket.

Reply to the email saying that it isn’t in game mail spam. That you think you’ve identified a hacked account or an accout purely used for gold selling.

Again, if the response to your ticket was not to your satisfaction you need to update it. People make mistakes, perhaps your original message was misinterpreted by he CS representative that read it. That said, if you are not going to listen to the people here trying to help you, good luck.

I understand CS doesn’t read the forums but on multiple occasions i’ve seen gaile or other active GM’s bring issues to the CS team from the forum. i was hoping something like this could happen since i obviously cannot get through to the CS myself. @justrodger. i appreciate the information given. i do not appreciate your attitude. The only reason i am pushing this here is because i have tried CS to absolute no avail. What is being suggested has already been tried. This is my last option. I am always open to advice but little quips like " if your not going to listen to the people here trying to help you" stuff can remain within you as it is unappreciated. The help your offering is not help as it’s already been done.

You never stated if you UPDATED your ticket, like many here have suggested and is the protocol for dealing with support requests. If you have done so then wait for a response. If you have not done and refuse to do so, well, no on here can help you. Good luck.

As before mentioned. The thread created is addressed to Staff. Your knowledge of the system is respected. I have updated my ticket. Once. to let the CS know i did not originally put a ticket out for mail spam and that i felt ignored. I recieved a reply from a GM assuring me i was not ignored. But considering they replied with a complete unrelated answer to begin with. i feel their assurance of me being taken seriously is also a farce. This information,like much more information was withheld from this thread so i could explain it personally in PM to a GM. That being said. Your information is completely useless to me. that being said. i still respect the information given as you went out of your way to inform me. That being said. Your attitude given could have remained absent this entire time. If your idea of helping is to give attitude to people who aren’t listening to your ideas, Then you need to leave the advice to the staff.

Even if that’s the account that hacked you, how do you know that it’s the hacker? Maybe that account was also hacked and then recovered and is now being played by the original owner. If he has a large list of people he has casually friended, he may not realize that he wasn’t the one to put you there or maybe he hasn’t bothered to clean out the list.

You know, just because someone follows you isn’t hard evidence that that player is a ‘hacker’.

Even if an account was closed, a ‘hacker’ would just compromise another account, likely, and continue to disrupt other players’ experience. I’m sure the CS Team will action the accounts involved how they best see fit.

You have given the CS Team notice to investigate another account. What they do concerning other accounts is not something they will ever share, and the replies they are allowed to place in responses may seem arbitrary or ‘off-topic’ to player-laymen.

A player’s only recourse is to update an existing ticket until the ticket is closed.
