Guild Wars 2

The ‘remember password’ checkbox just adamantly refuses to save the password for some reason.

I’ve tried pressing enter/using the login button without doing anything to the password field, that fails. I deleted the local.dat (I don’t have one in My Documents, oddly enough), I’ve tried unchecking them, logging in, logging out, checking them, logging in then logging out again. That saved a greyed out 6 asterisk password, but attempting to login with it resulted in an error coming up saying the code was invalid (No clue what it’s on about there) and unchecking, closing the launcher, checking them and logging back in has failed as well.

Local.dat is under \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2

Run Gw2.exe directly as an administrator. If you’re using the -shareArchive command line option, note that you cannot modify your settings while it’s enabled.

Your Windows user account could be corrupted. You can try setting up a new temporary user account as a test.

Local.dat is under \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2

By default, it’s under appdata/Guild Wars 2/. If that one becomes corrupted however, it changes to Documents/Guild Wars 2/, which takes priority (if it exists).

Tried the -repair argument. It got as far as saving the password, then the ‘invalid code’ reappeared. Going to go try a new user now
