Guild Wars 2

Earlier this week I spotted two separate characters with what I thought were inappropriate guild names and tags. I used the option to report them for inappropriate user name, which I thought was the same way.

However, I have since seen one of them still with the same guild tag. The guild tag refers to a body part with five letters, minus the letter e. I re-reported him.

The second one was the guild name, which had spaced out letter of a word that is 10 letters long that describes a very disturbing type of criminal (with hunters at the end).

I’m just a bit worried that if I’m reporting them for ‘Inappropriate Character Name’ that their guild name and/or tag would be overlooked, and that ArenaNet might think I’m wasting their time.

So, my question is, am I reporting them in the right way, or would ArenaNet like me to submit this kind of reporting instead, so I can go into more detail?

They recommend making a ticket from the forum (https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new) and reporting them.

Probably because reporting as name makes them spend time researching the name and because they won’t necessarily think of looking at guild name, pet name or account name, which are other things that are best reported with a ticket.

Thanks – I will from now on use that, though I can’t remember the two player’s usernames in question since I only spotted them for a split second before they ran past me in game!

I wonder if there’s a way ANet can make an ability in the options menu to disable viewing someone’s guild name (and guild tag)?

It’s obvious people who choose to have inappropriate and insulting guild names and tags are just doing it to harass players, and they’re getting away with it because there’s no real system in place to quickly reprimand violators. If ANet could make a filter, similar to the curse word filter already in place, to just toggle off/on the ability to view other players guild name and tag, it will give a relief to those of us who shouldn’t be subjected to vile and rude guild names and tags.

• Guild Name (exact spelling)
• When possible, a character or display name of a member of that guild (this is golden for us)
• Guild Tag (Unfortunately, we can’t review tags without the guild name OR a character or display name of a member)
