Guild Wars 2

I’m experiencing really bad Skill / Chat lag currently. I tried disabling my firewall and ran some ISP test and everything seems normal, until I try to play. Once in game my skills will take 5-10 seconds to activate and eventually won’t activate at all. During this time, I can still roam around the map and read new chat messages. However, if i try to type something in chat, it will not send. Any tips?

My Rig.
GPU Geforce GTX 760
CPU Intel i5 4670k @ 3.4 ghz
Ram 8gb

I don’t think it’s your hardware problem. I am experiencing extreme lag today as well.

Yesterday started lagging for me. I cannot play a dungeon without lagging and getting kicked out of the client. Today, I’m experiencing the same horrible lag in story-mode instancing. I have nearly the same setup as Drennon. (except Intel i7 w/16gb Ram, same GPU). Skills take many seconds long to activate, if they do. Alot of my chat is VERY delayed. I hope this returns back to normal play soon.

I started experiencing debilitating lag today myself. All my other MMO/net activity works fine but GW2 is extreme skill lag and DC’s.

guildwars2.com is extremely slow also. Wondering if ANet is being targeted by DDOS. Seems to be a lot of script kiddy activity lately doing that kind of crap.

Very annoying issue. It didn’t just happen in populated mega event map, I got kicked off when I just sitting around chatting..

Same here today…very slow response of skills like 3-5 seconds. wvw, pve, dungeons, etc is unplayable right now.

Well this issue has now become more interesting to me. I decide to test Gw2 on my mac, side by side with my windows rig. What I found bizarre is that, on my Mac Gw2 is running smooth with no lag. However, on my windows machine, Gw2 is still experience skill and chat lag. As stated before, my firewall is off and all drivers are current.

Resolved!

I uninstalled Overwolf and all of the sudden everything is running perfectly.
weird.

I don’t have Overwolf installed and I’ve been experiencing the same lag. Even when I tried on my mac, it was just as laggy.

I don’t run any overlays in GW2 and I’m still experiencing giant lag balls. I have just now logged out of the game from frustration….

was perfectly fine yesterday, today it’s unplayable
