SAVE POONER
SAVE POONER!!!!!!!!!!!! #savepooner
Thanks guys, I nearly quit the game over support stone walling me on this issue. Today they basically told me they didn’t have time to deal with me. If it wasn’t for your support and friendship I would have.
This is also about anet’s naming policy being so vague as to encompass nearly all names in the game in the present.
When the login servers were down for 4 hours a couple of months ago I posted in a thread about it. My exact words…
“Same problem waiting on fix”
Which is what most people said in the thread… Later I got an infraction for being inappropriate on the forums. I emailed the forums email a number of times and never got a response back to why something like that could be considered inappropriate. A prime example of how Anet moderators are over doing it… How they never fix or admit to their mistakes. Anet has the worst support I’ve ever seen, and the moderation is like Nazi Germany… It’s pretty ridiculous…
Anyway good luck, even tho he won’t get his name back as support or moderators could careless about what you think…

save ser pooner great guildy and lots of fun
his name is not offensive I have seen much worse guess I start reporting them.
Thanks Gank,
If this gets censored we might have to move this to reddit.
We will do what we can Ser Pooner!!
As a member of the same guild, I’ve come to defend Ser Pooner’s name. It was not created to mean anything filthy, and the name is actually a completely valid one. Unfortunately, thanks to crass resources like Urban Dictionary, the name has been linked to something vulgar, which is what someone obviously took offense to.
This is an egregious overreaction and misuse of moderator manhours that must be remedied. The name had no darker meaning behind it, and in all likelihood was made at random by the creator. No one should be punished for something like that.
Save Sir Pooner!

I have spent a lot of time personally addressing this issue with the player in question — or perhaps discussing the same name with another individual who was intent on using the name. I understand that the name in question is a legitimate last name; that was the case with the player with whom I discussed this. However, it has become, in common usage, a name that we simply cannot allow in the game. (I invite you to check Urban Dictionary or another resources if you’re unsure why.) And in fact, the forums will not even allow the four-letter variation of the name.
The name was reported. Players do not know your intentions; they only see the name and know it to be unacceptable. Agents do not have malicious intentions in flagging a name for renaming; they’re acting in the best interests of the community as a whole.
So let’s be clear: (1) it’s wrong to bring it to the forums when the issue previously was addressed in the forums and through support tickets, and (2) the name will not be reinstated due to pressure, petition (disallowed by the rules you accept when you become a member here), or any level of righteous indignation.
Feel free to take this to whatever external medium you choose. The name will not be allowed in Guild Wars 2.
