So, a quick question, which is probably obvious.

I’m moving halfway across the world for college soon, but I still want to be able to play with my friends here.
I’ve heard about the “Megaserver” but I’m not too sure how it works.
So my question is, If I’m at my college, can I still play with my friend who’s on the other side of the planet on the same server? Or is it only through Region? (NA, EU, etc.)

The megaserver is region dependant. So there is an NA megaserver and an EU megaserver.

If your account is, for example, an NA account at the moment then it will still be an NA account when you move. So you’ll be able to keep playing with your existing NA friends (you just might experience ping/lag issues). The same is true if you and your friends presently have EU accounts.

If you’re moving from an NA region to an EU region and wanted to change in game regions as well I think you’d need to create a new account?

You can play with your friends as long as you are in the same region which will be either NA or EU. It does not matter which server they are on but you must share the same region.

It will not matter where you live. You still should be able to log into the region you already are registered in.

I’m in NA and have accounts on both EU and NA and have very little difference in play-ablility. There are even occasions where my EU account behaves better than my NA account.

As long as you don’t make a server transfer from EU to US or otherwise, you
can still play with the same people. Its in the end all bound to the server you
play on.
