Am I the only one who’s been getting really bad screen freezes since I’ve installed the patch?
The game loads up, I have about 5 seconds to walk around, then the game freezes. Trying to alt+tab is futile, tried bringing up Cntrl+Alt+Delete brought up the windows screen but didnt bring up the Task manager. It’s like the PC is still running fine, but unable to graphically change anything from the frozen screen and the only choice is restarting the PC . (Done so about 4 times the last 10 minutes)
Would love some help, it was only after the patch was done installing ~_~
Thanks in advance
Edit:
Happened because of bgdm, its solved.
Thanks.

May be related to bgdm or other DPS meters. Do you have one?
i’m having the same issue. it’s only after i connect to a character though.
tried 4 different ones aswell. 2 in LA 2 in malchors leap.
if i make the game windowed(alt+enter) i can access task manager. but that has to be done before the lockup.
again any help would be great.
Thanks

Yes, bgdm
Should I remove it? how?
Edit:
Removed BGDM by deleting 2 files for “bin64” folder:
– d3d9.dll
– bgdm.dll
Thanks for the help!

No problem. Just wait a few days and the bgdm team should have a compatible dps meter ready
I have the same issue, but I am not using any DPS meters.
I can run around just fine for a few minutes then it just locks up.
Unless I restart the PC, I’m completely stuck.
Same issue as poster above me and I’ve never used a dps meter of any sort.
Screen freezes like that are not really a common symptom of DPS meter related issues — though it’s not impossible that they could cause it, since they usually inject themselves in the rendering path, so a bug could break that.
Anyway, I’d encourage y’all to investigate driver and/or hardware issues for this. It’s the most likely cause. The event logs might shed some light on the issue, too, if you have not yet checked those.
For others, reseating the video card, reducing overclocking, or improving power supply have helped.
