I have a problem running the program. I can log in but when i press to play, page closes and i get an error that says to send a report to ArenaNet. After I send the email, it all closes. Still doesnt let me play. There is no Error code. just says
“A serious error has occurred that prevents the program from continuing to run. You can help prevent this error from occurring in the future by reporting it to AnreaNet. Please press the Send button to report this error.”
It doesnt say anything about fixing the problem and i didnt get any emails about them receiving the reports. Plz help.

if you click the ‘show details’ button if you next get a crash it will show you what is in the error report. you can copy and paste the top part of the error report here (the part between —> Crash <-- and —> System <--), and someone might be able to help identify what is causing it

If you have a program that intercepts the dx9 DLL (eg: dps meter, gemfx or reshade, etc) then make sure it is up to date (or removed) and see if the crash persists.

Hey, I dont know what program you can be talking about.
This happened when i was setting up my 3 screens to make them into 1 but i was running Guild Wars while i was changing the resolution. Before i could get to the game to change the resolution to 5760X1080, it closed and gave me the error message. I even uninstalled and re-installed but i still have the error.

If you don’t know what they are, you are not running them. Which is cool, it’s just a thing worth eliminating. Not quite an “is it switched on” question, but, y’know, sometimes that really was the problem.

pretends they never tightened a cable and fixed their internet problem when the tech suggested it

Hey so just so you know. I was able to fix the problem. It was the Local Data file. I deleted the file and it worked perfectly again.

I went to Windows Searched: Run

The Tech guys gave me: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2

Press: OK

The last file says “Local.dat”

Right-click and Delete

Thats it. It works.

One other way to fix this issue .

Reset your 3 monitors to one log into GW2 open up options set to window mode (smaller than your one monitor)
close GW2
set your 3 screens back up

log in
reset full screen options
