Can I get an answer or a suggestion on which forums this topic belongs in?

Your friends need to try random hours (like 4am) until they find it less than full. Or get really lucky and catch it on a day when most players happen to be doing something else.
We have been doing that for 2 weeks at nearly all hours since we game together on other games a lot.

Unfortunately that is your best shot. Keep trying. At least you can all be progressing wherever you currently are and just transfer over when the opportunity presents itself.
Progressing is not our priority, it’s playing with each other since all levels can level together. So we refrained from playing until we find a way to all get to be together.
I understand that this is different thinking for most, but it’s how we do it.

Also, you guys can be playing other characters than the ones you intend to level together.
I know it doesn’t really help but just offering suggestions that might help ease the wait.
I believe you can still play PVE content together buy joining each others party in the area you wish to play together and right clicking their portrait and choosing to go to them. I have not done this but that is what I have read.

Only if at least one party member is in an overflow and then you all have to move to that overflow. (actually not sure if you all have to be in overflow or just one)
The people on a full server can switch to a not-full server, and everyone can join there. Then you can all play together.
Pick which one you want – to play as a guild or to play on Tarnished Coast. Sometimes you have to make choices in life. If you love the roleplay atmosphere, find another server that does roleplay (I think Jade Quarry or Stormbluff Isle did some RP at points), or set yourself up as an RP guild on the server you pick.
I agree that it would be great if ANet could raise the server population limit, and hopefully they’ll be able to at some point. But some limits are just there and have to be worked around.
Also, guilds are cross-server. You can still talk with each other, and if you’re all in the same server group (NA or EU) you can do dungeons together.
EDIT: You do know about downscaling right? If characters are different levels it doesn’t matter, you’ll all get scaled to the area level anyway. So don’t stop playing because you won’t be the same level.

I don’t think this will matter much anymore, my friend’s have read through the threads of people posting about their Hacked experiences and stuff like in https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/High-Ranked-players-Commanders-hacked-Merged/first and are slowly going back to their old MMOs where they feel safer.
So much for a fun time together.
Lol, trying to spread paranoia are we? Bit of a doom and gloom attitude. The hacker stuff happens in all games and Anet have just been the most open about it from my experiences with other games, and since they are more open it is more widely known.
You didn’t read the thread, did you? Just the title and the OP I would assume…

I have posted several times in the thread. Your post about hacking and stuff did confuse me at first yes but it is obvious I have read the thread… ?
You could convince your friends that it (hacking) can happen no matter where they go. That it is not ArenaNet’s fault that so many people are slack with their account and email security despite ArenaNet’s efforts to encourage people to be more secure.
It’s a stupid reason to not play IMO. But if someone wants to use that as an excuse to not play then I guess they probably just didn’t actually want to play anyway.
It’s not the hacking, that happens in all games as you said, it’s the way they go about it and what information is released to the individuals who’ve gone through it. An example would be in WoW 2 years ago I was hacked, everything lost, even my low level alts. My main was naked used for farming. That was during my 3 month break. I come back, open a ticket, go eat for 15 minutes, come back to a whisper from a GM that was 8 minutes old telling me how they couldn’t get a hold of me so they’ll restore everything when I relog. I did, all my items were in my mail (including 7 tabs of my Guild Bank) and all my characters were restored. I even kept everything that the hacker farmed/gained on my account and had still not gotten rid of before I opened a ticket.
Granted, WoW has had more experience over the years, but I do not like how those people are being treated by Anet. Despite the “we’re working on it” I believe that the victims should be at least be informed more often with more details if it won’t be resolved relatively soon.

If I was customer support I wouldn’t be as lax as what you describe in WoW. Assuming the person on the account was the legitimate owner and just restoring all the items quickly. If the hacker still had access to your account then they could just take it all again.
People are complaining about ArenaNet when all ArenaNet are doing is taking precautions to ensure the accounts are secure before giving the account back. They are working on a comprehensive tool to restore items to accounts. I don’t know why it wasn’t in place at launch but the fact is that it isn’t there yet, but it is coming.
Take the complaints with a grain of salt. People imagine all kinds of slights when they are frustrated. And it’s not ArenaNet’s fault they get hacked so they should really be directing their frustration at themselves for providing access to a hacker in some way.
