How pvp is at the moment for me:
- 3s lagspike every 2s of game: basically, i have a 2s window during which i can chose a spell to activate; however, doing so isn’t that useful because before the spell activates, at least 3s will pass and during those 3s the enemy has gone to africa and got back.

If this wasn’t enough frustrating, from time to time i get 15-20s lagspike that ends with a crash. I’ve crashed 2-3 times during a game and i couldn’t even score a kill.

I see people teleporting/warping/jumping around me the whole time and, when i activate some spell that requires me to stand still, i get eternally rooted in place and i end up dead after the lagspike. It’s like: cast spell, get stuck in a loop => ???? => dead.

Collecting seer’s set is being a nightmare.

Oh, update: login, get a lagspike immediately after i entered with my mesmer and crashed. I tried logging in again and again: lagspike crash.

I can’t even exit the mists at the moment because i get stuck in a loop the first moment i enter the game. Teleport me out of this hell at least :S

Lag is back and for good, since saturday after the patch I started to have low fps again (1 to 6 fps), this happened before about 20 days ago, at that time I posted in bug forums. It’s impossible to play in this conditions. Hope this helps to solve it.

This is just one example of heavy packet loss. This could also potentially be due to the fact that the original trace begins in Europe and ends on a North American game server. The same cannot be said for all players who submitted reports as some traceroutes were incomplete, possibly due to security software, router firewalls, or ISP’s blocking the trace.

That being said, for those of you who have a high degree of packet loss within the traceroutes you’ve run, you will need to contact your ISP directly to have them resolve this issue. This is simply because they are the ones that control the route your data takes. Both NCSOFT or ArenaNet have no control over your data until it reaches our servers and as such, we need to get your ISP involved.

I would also highly recommend creating a technical support ticket because I am not at all saying for every player who is experiencing this issue that this is at the fault of their IP. This is just based on the traceroutes that we’ve looked at in this thread. If you were to contact support we can go through some more in depth troubleshooting and will allow us to collect more information to look into for further investigation if this issue does appear to be on our end.

Dear support,

The issue has just occurred since the last patch. There were no issue playing the game using a lower speed DSL connection or a high-speed optic fiber connection.
Ever more, no changes to firewall or any computer settings since the patch or shortly before. Last week I was able to play the game on the same connection without any kind of spikes/lag.
Conclusion: there were some changes on the Guild Wars 2 side which caused the high latency.

So, please work together with the networking team and fix the issue.

Still experiencing the following:

- Pockets of severe skill lag. Usually reduced for a period of time by changing character or restarting my client.
- Cannot get past the loading screen when a character is ‘parked’ in Lion’s Arch.
- Cannot get past the loading screen when a character is ‘parked’ in The Mists.

This game has run perfectly smoothly for me for the last 6 months. These issues started in line with the latest game update. I have submitted a few diagnostic reports via Support Reference # 130417-000796.

Lots of in-game lag, started at least around the 18th of April for me if I remember correctly.

Arenanet, I did your -diag option and looked through the report. No loss on my side (and don’t want to post my IP up on the Internet, which is in that log), but I did notice this on your side of the Internet (your servers)…

i really think anet should look into it from another point of view as in check your own servers and coding .. the problem only manifested quite recently. Been playing this since aug without any issues at all.. but since some patch, this kind of lag spike started to appear (not very frequently for me, but it is irritating when it does happen). It cant be a coincidence that this many players are actually complaining about the same thing from multiple different servers. if 1 or 2 players are complaining, you can probably say that our ISPs might have issues. but if more than 10 or at least 15 here are complaining about similar issues.. well..

First, please don’t get me wrong. This post is not just about me hating on ANet, because I truly do love them. They’ve given me a great game without a subscription, what more can I ask for?

Well I guess I could ask for a game that I could play, but who really wants that? Like everyone else in this thread, since the patch I’ve gotten crippling lag that’s caused me to ragequit several different times every single day since the patch dropped. The kicker is that this isn’t the first time it’s happened. Take a look through some old forum posts, this is the third or fourth time (to my knowledge) that a patch has dropped, causing tons of players to flock to these forums complaining about this EXACT SAME ISSUE. I was lucky enough to be chosen by the gods to have this continuously happen once every month and a half or so. ANet comes back every time saying “Oh it’s obviously your guys’ ISP, you should contact them because it’s totes not our fault.” even though we’re all avid gamers and GW2 is the only game this occurs in. And then a mysterious yellow message will pop up in game late at night, saying there will be server maintenance that may effect our connectivity, and we’re all magically fixed.

ANet, I love you. Seriously. But get your **** together, please. :c </Angry Nerdrage>

Same here, last couple days, been getting huge lag in game, got my commander giving orders to move out, but everyone on my screen remain where they are for 7 seconds before moving, whilst on TS they have already entered a fight.

It has been unplayable. I submitted a ticket to my ISP who say everything looks fine on my line.

the only other time iv experience lag spikes and server kicks was the free weekend when southsun was introduced.
this has only resurfaced since the first update of april and if it was my isp’s fault it would effect any of the 10 chrs i have and not just 2 of them.
it has lessened a great deal over the last couple of days but that could also be down to my playing a different chr and only using the 2 crippled chrs sparingly who knows???

The optimisation for this game, hasn’t been kind to many of it’s playerbase. Help me fix this, or increase the Population of developers focusing on fixing this problemn by looking at my Optimisation complaint and supporting it.

WvW has a 2-3 second lag with skills, even when there is no one around! Completely unplayable!

First, if you’re going to submit your NetworkDiag.log, I would suggest removal of your IP address from it.

Second, the issue I’m experiencing is “zone related”. It’s not happening every where in the game, only in specific zones where there is a high number of players. For example, if I go to Wayfarer Foothills during a heavy time such as after 7pm Pacific Time, I will become disconnected within 5 minutes and it will keep happening randomly within every 5 minutes.

If I move to Queensdale or Plains of Ashford I won’t ever see a disconnect. Move back to Wayfarer Foothills before 10pm when many are doing the Maw event and continue to see disconnects shorter than 5 minutes. Move back to Queensdale or Plains of Ashford and play for hours, no disconnects what-so-ever!

I don’t think the NetworkDiag.log information is going to help in this case when the issue appears to be on the server side and in particular in areas where there are a lot of players.

The issue for me began after the patch/downtime mentioned in this message thread. I wasn’t really visiting high zone areas just prior though so it could have existed prior. I began heavily doing the daily achievements about weeks ago and only after the last patch/downtime was when I started to get disconnects.

I don’t see this problem in any other online games and I have just about the fastest Internet available at 100mbps download and 20mpbs upload.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I’m on the Stormbluff Isle server.

1 month in and still no solution
at certain times of the day 3 of my characters are totally unplayable yet the rest
have no issues whatsoever so this is not an ISP problem or it would affect all,
guildy has similar problem where 2 of his characters are unplayable after roughly
6pm GMT yet has no problems on the rest.

I am at least hoping for a response from Tech Support to assure us that they’re looking into this.

It is very frustrating to have the game freeze on you when you’re killing a world boss, and miss the chest. What’s worse, since I’ve technically done the boss despite not receiving any credit, the chest no longer spawns when we fight the same boss again at a later time.
