Guild Wars 2

I searched a bit on the forums, and didn’t see anything. I log into my Guild Wars 2 game from my desktop at home. I also try every once in a blue moon (like, 4 times total) to access it from my Mac (LOL). I get on my account while I’m at school, like right now, just to browse forums. I’ve had the authenticator since they introduced it, never been hacked or anything that I know of. For a long time, though, when I go to my Security, I see an IP address from NY, US. I log it out, it never gets in, that I know of. It always says the IP address was logged in ~1Min ago, and the only time I’ve seen it actually on my list of IPs, I logged it out. So far nothing has happened, moneys not gone, gear is still there, but it’s still a bit weird. Any ideas?

Not sure. Are you anywhere near NY? Does this only happen when you are or have been at school?

Nope, I live a few states away. I just looked at it now, had to log it out, cuz it’s up there again, but nothing ever happens, I just see this same NY IP address being authorized on my networks list. I half think it’s my authenticator, but idk lol and it’s when I’m at home and at school I see it.

You could contact your ISP and ask them if they use that IP address. Or look it up on whois.

You can also go to http://www.whatsmyip.org from both your home and school computers and see what IP shows up there. The IP shown on that page is the IP the rest of the world will see you coming from.

FYI. I work In RI.
If I do a trace on our IP, it shows we are in Kansas. Our office in CT shows up as NY.

O_O ok apparently the IP address that I’ve been worried about is somehow… my school… I’m in Ohio lol then again, I guess it does bounce, just sounds weird. Now that I’m thinking of it, I might have started seeing this more since I started at this school. Welp, I’m done, thanks for the help ppl lol
