It seems that from what I am seeing that there is a minor delay when pressing keys to move (WASD) or when using abilities in game.

This delay is slight, but when pressing a key down to move and releasing the key quickly it looks like the corresponding action happens on key up, rather than on key down. I say looks because this seems like a server issue or lag issue somewhere.

This can make doing things in the game feel a bit laggy and not as exciting and responsive as you would like or need for certain encounters. This is especially true for dungeons or competitive pvp.

Anyway, figured this was likely a bug with the client or server side tech. Thanks for reading.

I know what you’re talking about, but the game does in fact register on key-down (you can test by holding a key down and not releasing). What you’re seeing is internet latency or server lag (though probably both). Ping lowering services can help with the internet latency (YMMV), but a good majority of the ability delay right now has been server lag.

I play with about a 65ms latency to GW2 servers with Smoothping, and there’s still a lot of delay. The delay can change drastically depending on what zone you’re in too, as some have really bad server lag whereas others are nearly zero delay.

Input lag during peak times can be gamebreaking! On Desolation between 5 and 10 pm some of the zones can be unplayable (some of the zones and not always..granted)

Me and several guildees have died thanks to input lag and game freezes, last night was particulary bad for game freezing..why? No idea!

All i know is the last time i saw similiar freezes was on early release LOTRO.
