Q:
Slow Loading Times?
what is your laptop?, have you checked if you can put in a M.2 SSD?,
my laptop has a M.2 SSD slot, so i have the game and OS on an SSD and the 1tb HDD for everything else

Even running off a 5400RPM hard disk busy with other things makes three minute load times … less likely. That’s slow no matter what it’s loading from.

i went from a long load time to a 15-25 sec load time since getting kitten
If you’re running GeForce Experience and have sharing/shadowplay/overlays enabled, it can greatly increase your load times.
Besides disk speed, your CPU and network speed will also affect your load time. If you have high packet loss, loading can even enter an infinite loop. Run the game with -maploadinfo for loading info (Gw2.exe -maploadinfo).
This generally only affects older installs, but you can try deleting %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat, which is your hardware-related settings.

I don’t actually have anyway to put an SSD in unfortunately

I turned off the experince, as it was going as far as actually crashing the game client. I will try that though.
The HDD speed isn’t going to result in load times like that. I have a weak i3-5010u laptop with integrated graphics and a 5400 RPM drive. Load times take about 60-90 seconds at worst.
Are you using a wifi connection? Any way to get a wired connection?
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
