So have I been hacked?
Have you even checked your account?
Those emails could be Phising emails.
And you can still log in here, the forum uses the same info. So your password should be saved in your browser tools.
Like the above poster has stated, it’s likely just phishing emails. What you should do is go ahead and see if you can log in, and of course when you do, give things a quick once-over to make sure everything is intact.
To end the phishing attempts, I strongly recommend creating an email account solely for GW2 and nothing else. I made a quickie on gmail for this purpose and that email is used for absolutely nothing else in any way. The old email still gets the occasional phishing attempt, but I’ve never had one on the actual email tied to the account since. (Also make sure the password to the new email is unique, not the same as other accounts of course.)
I can’t recommend the unique GW2 email idea strongly enough. It has ended any and all phishing attempts except to invalid email addresses that are clearly not legit.
I would have posted this sooner, but flood control seems to be limiting me to once every five minutes.
Well I have a massive load of updates to do to see, how did they get my email add then? The password is totally unique to GW2 so they would not have got it from anywhere else.
Seems i wasn’t hacked then, everyone needs to calm down. A lot has changed in the 8 months since i was last here, my guild seems pretty dead though! Maybe i’ll see you all again in another 8 months.

They send emails to people who have never even played the game, spammers and scammers just send to every random email they can find, even email addresses they do not exist. It happens, do not try to read to much in to it.
Look at the thread below.

I haven’t played in a long time and I’m trying to remember my old characters I have and password I used so I can change it but I totally forgot.

@Gaile Grey,
Not completely true, I have a number of email accounts and the only one I have ever had these mails to are the one that’s associated to my guild wars account so they are clearly targeted. Anyhow I don’t suppose I’ll be playing again anyway but at least the option is open to me if something draws me back, that it’s not been fleeced by a hacker.

Yes, I imagine that tens of millions of people are getting e-mails, allegedly from us, saying things like “Your GW2 account is in jeopardy” or “Your account has been terminated.” We have more than 3 million players but we don’t have as many as are receiving these bogus e-mails. I know this because as point of contact for ArenaNet on some email accounts, I’m hearing daily from people who say, “I don’t play computer games, please take me off your mailing list!” or “I don’t have an account, please stop mailing me.” Our reply assures them they are not on our mailing list, they are not hearing from us, but are being phished by someone who knows their email address and is hoping they have a GW2 account to steal.
What that means is that people are targeted, not our players. And those recipients include many who do not have and have never had a Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account.
Phishers … phish! I get e-mails several times a week about a game I’ve never joined, never even demo’d. The would-be account thieves hope that I have such an account and hope I am stupid enough to click their bogus link and provide my credentials so that they can steal the account. Obviously, they fail.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience you’re facing, but I don’t believe we can help you avoid mails that are not sourced from, or though, our company.
As far as your account, we’ll be happy to work with you on security, if it has been compromised, so please contact Support if you’re concerned about that at all.

As someone who doesn’t have a Facebook, Google+ or Twitter account I laugh all the time over the phishing e-mails I use to get. Don’t get nearly as many as e-mail providers beefed up their spam filter. Downside of course is for GW2, this also means legitimate e-mails get binned straight away as well.
