[Solved] GTX970 GPU Temperatures
Normal, and no however many hours won’t shorten the life of the GPU.
If it ever packs up it will be outdated and time for a new one anyway.
Just play the game forget it.
Currently if I run everything on the highest settings, my GPU (Asus GTX970) is hitting around low-mid 70s (degrees celsius).
Are these temperatures normal? Will this impact GPU life (assuming 4-5 hours a day)? My GPU fan’s running at around 50%.
I am using CPUID HWMonitor to obtain these values.
Temperature will always be depending on how good air ventilation (flow of air) you will have in your case from front to back or from bottom to roof.
Make sure to clean out dust in your computer with air duster (compressed air for cleaning of electronic parts) on regular schedule, but make sure you use a armwrist discharger connected to computer. (Read on hardware forum like Tom’s hardware how to go about and what to think about before you do this.)
Avoid to place your computer in bed chamber as that place usually produce a lot of dust and not directly on floor.

Completely normal, both of my cards hit 70

Pretty high tbh,my 970 barely hits 50c with fan at 30% speed.
I consider 70’s pretty high, I’m running a 960 at 40% fan speed while in game, temperature sits around 56-58.
Probably not relevant to you, because it’s a completely different beast, but my MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning runs at around 60c in this heat wave. But I have descent case airflow. If you wanna reduce your temps, suggest working that airflow issue.

I have a NZXT Phantom 410 case, with a fan at the front bottom, top back, and back top. Should this be adequate airflow? And the low-mid 70’s was taken on a rather hot day. Currently it’s running around mid 60’s – that should be fine right?
Thanks for all the responses!

Somewhere in the 70s is a perfectly reasonable GPU temperature
