Hi,

I got
XFX GTX 260 Black Edition
Inter Core i5 2500k
10Gb Ram DDR3 1600Mhz

So i played the game since release and my fps was 50-60 medium-low setings using 1680×1080 resolution, now with 1024×760 and low setings i got 5fps, i already upgraded the drivers and even chenged the nvidia setings, not working, any ideas?

EDIT: GPU usage @ 98% and CPU @ 20% Usage its realy weird cause before the update the game was working fine

There is your problem area, CPU usage only 20%. Before it works fine, now it doesn’t meaning something is preventing the CPU from working. Tried rebooting? What about power management settings? What OS are you running?

I’m having the same issue. GTX 680 here, running the latest drivers (also tried stepping back one level). This started about a week ago after one of the updates. I’ve solved it for now by going into graphics settings in the game and turning off all reflections.

With reflections enabled at any level, single-digit frame rates. With reflections off, back to 60-80fps.

Yup it is, if it wasnt i should have got problems BEFORE the patch but i didnt, only AFTER the patch game runs with low fps

I Have the same problem. Running gw2 on max settings with no problem. After the latest build when i logged in everything just slowed down like my pc is having a hard time rendering the game that results to a very low fps (5-10) in LA just merely standing there. I have a pretty high end rig and these problem occurred after the latest build so i’m pretty sure nothing is wrong with my ISP or PC. WTB fix cuz the game is not playable.

Im starting to regret buying GW2 i should ask for a refund… -.-

Well reinstaled OS, downgraded drivers, reinstaled game, did everything and still game caped @10fps since this latest Build on GW2. I wanted to play the kitten haloween events all i can say is this sucks a lot, payed for a game that aint working properly on some hardwares. This week im gona change my GPU with my friend he as 280GTX same CPU and RAM and hes runing the game with no problems with this build.

To the dev’s, make sure u test the game with all kinds of hardware before releasing the next patch… ._.

I’m in the same (or similar) boat you are. Except I have a radeon 5770 card. Was playing fine at 30+ fps up until a few days ago. Went down to 8ish, then 5ish, and as of last night I’m sitting at a solid 1 fps. Haven’t made changes to my computer recently, everything else runs just dandy, and my internet is purring along as usual. All signs seem to be pointing to something anet has changed.

Hope this get fix on this event, i already missed the haloween event…

I had the same issue tuerned out was my PCI e port running at 2x instead 16×. Check it out with GPUz

It’s odd how many patches result in people having fps issues. Obviously countless people don’t see this.

It would be nice if Arena.net could figure this one out. Seems to be one of the most common issues reported here.

Seems like there should be some solution for you, but I can’t think of anything obvious. I can only suggest trying anything any sane seeming person posts that helped them (of course there’s been some whacky “fixes” I was highly skeptical about)

I have no idea what might be a problem.. maybe some program running in background using a lot of resources?

I got pretty similiar spec to yours:
i3-3220
Gigabyte GTX 260 super OC 216 Cores edition
8gb ram

And my fps is same 60-100 in most zones,
35-40 in LA crowded
and around 20-30 in massive WvW – depends on amount of ppl…

Tho I play on all Medium with FXAA + native render on 1920/1080 resolution.

So trust me it’s not Your GPU. mine also is working on 98-99% on those settings but it’s handling it.

Problem in Your case can be in CPU the i5-2500.
Im not sure what can cause the problem but im 100% sure it’s Your CPU.

Also for GPU instal 310.33 Beta Driver

Check core parking/check it with CPU-z try AIDA64.
Check clock MHz maybe somehow it gone down ?
Or Scan Your system via avast or other anti-vir – there are few viruses which occupy your CPU so badly U can’t do kitten.
Also Update Intel drivers from Intel website check bios etc.

Recheck CPU and GPU setings and clock everything is fine just updated to the latest nvivia beta drivers still with the same issue.

I just cleaned all my hardware and now its working……

so it was temperature high lvls

Nup i was the ram i got 2×4 and 1×2
problem was:
Slot 1: 4gb
Slot 2: 2gb
Slot 3: empty
Slot 4: 4gb

changed to:

Slot 1: 4gb
Slot 2: 2gb
Slot 3: 4bg
Slot 4: empty

Yep, definitely ANet’s problem. If I were you I’d get rid of that 2gb stick entirely. It’ll save you from future headaches as well, and 8GB is plenty.
