I logged in today and I had a message with a stack of ecto from someone I don’t know. It had a warning that the message was from another player and not Arena Net. This feels like some kind of accidental gold farmer interaction or something of the sort.

I just left the ecto in the mail slot and haven’t touched it. How to I go about getting the sender checked into?

If you don’t feel comfortable with accepting it you can always send it back with a note. Chances are it was someone trying to mail it to someone else, and accidently sent it to the wrong person. It happens. But it could also be just a random act of kindness. Either way there should be no repercussions for just sending it back, with a note saying that you don’t feel comfortable about recieving it. If it was an accident, great the person sending it didn’t get screwed, and if it was a legit random gift, then the sender will probably be grateful, and send them again…

Gold farmers don’t send random individuals stuff. It’s almost certainly a mistake, someone sent stuff to a guildie or friend and addressed it to the wrong person. Send them back and don’t worry about it.

Also just to add that the warning about this being from a player and not Anet is automatically added to player-to-player mails, it’s not something weird/suspicious or added by the sender.
