Sorry, the code appears to be invalid
Type it in manually usually will work. I would also recommend writing down/printing out the code and keep it safe somewhere.
Ok I did that but it didn’t work either.
Im simply not recieving the code so I can finish the setup in authorization process. Im using something called Neosphere/Neoreader on my phone. Neither manualy or scan work. That means it can scan and understand what I type but it thinks it is invalid somehow.
You shouldn’t need to use any other app while setting up the authenticator.
ANet use Google Authenticator for authentication. All you need to do is download the google authenticator to your phone, launch it, and scan the code ( or type it in manually, I found QR Code scanning not working for me sometimes ).
Once you type in/scan in the secret key, you should have a time based 6 digits code on your phone. Type in the 6 digits code back into the linking windows on your computer and you should be done.
Many thx for the input. Google authenticator on andriod wanted to use the scanner Xzing. Now I got my gw2 account linked, but apparently it doesnt ask for authenticator code when logging in, so there must be an issue with gw2.
The client just stopped asking me for my authenticator code yesterday, it just skips right past that now. I’m glad to see that it’s not just me, I was afraid that I got hacked and someone removed the authenticator from my account.

In short, it didn’t ask you for code because you are logging in from an IP that is previous authorized. It will ask for the 6 digits code if its from another IP. It is a feature ANet is working on but released by accident.
MikeLewis from ANet has a detailed explanation in the post.
I have had a similar issue, when I scan it, it says the code is invalid, when I entered it in manually it gave me the 6 digit code to type in, I hit next and it brought me right back to the same page? Help?
