I’ve noticed, when playing the game using my Logitech G930 headset, that the audio does not always work correctly. Specifically, at some points I hear a buzzing sound, like something is wrong with the bass, when hearing characters talk during cutscenes. From threads in other forums that I have seen, I’m not the only one who has had this problem. Any idea if there’s any way I can fix it? One of the other threads suggested reinstalling Adobe Flash, but I use Google Chrome, which manages Adobe Flash itself. Thanks for any assistance or ideas anyone has.

I also use the Logitech G930 headset and experience no issues at all.

I recommend doing the following:

1. Uninstall your Logitech drivers and software.
2. Uninstall your audio drivers.
3. Download and install the latest audio drivers for your motherboard.
4. Download and install the latest Logitech software / drivers:

* Make sure you download and install the software / drivers that correspond to your version of Windows.

I have the same problems along with my friends. Dialogue sounds way too loud and distorted in cut scenes. When I uninstalled the Logitech software the headset was fine. Obviously in this mode I cannot use surround sound though. Not sure where the problem lies.

I have the same issue, is there a way to turn down the cut scene dialog? It seems to loud compared to the rest of the game.

I think there is an option but even when I tried they still sounded…distorted… Some have said to uninstall and reinstall newest version of adobe flash.. Worth a try I’ll report back in an hour or so.

I updated my Logitech software, but that didn’t seem to help. Anyone found a successful way to fix this yet?

I’ve also had issues with distorted sounds on my G35 headset. The bass during dialogue is distorted and really unpleasant (especially for charr) and turns into a garbled mess during large scale battles with a lot of bass.

Also, switching the headset from surround sound to stereo causes the sound to only play through the right speaker.

I’ve installed the newest drivers from logitech and my motherboard with no success.

EDIT: Just started playing tonight and my audio issues have disappeared. I did not update or touch anything since the last time I logged in but everything sounds clear and crisp now.

For anyone still having trouble, I want to lay down what I have discovered and my experiences with fixing or working around this issue.

These fixes will hopefully remove the audio artifacts from surround sound mode on your headset.

First, you will want to go to open your system tray and right-click the speaker icon, then select ‘playback devices’. You should see your Logitech headset listed. Right-click it and select ‘configure speakers’. Go through the setup, but this time uncheck all speakers except for ‘center’. On the final page, uncheck both ‘front left and right’ and ‘surround speakers’.

Now, go back to playback devices. Right-click the headset and select ‘properties’. In the window that pops up, select the ‘enhancements’ tab. Here, tick ‘low frequency protection’.

This fixes the rumbling issues, however it is not a cure-all for the clipping/rumbling dialogue. This can – as far as I can tell – be fixed by repeatedly toggling surround sound and stereo mode on your headset until it works. If that fails, restart GW2 or try unplugging your headset and plugging it back in again.

Hope I helped.
