Ok so I just got the game today finally and I am not able to install it. I don’t know if it is my computer or some other problem because I have had no problem downloading any other game I have played before and I see some people may have the same problem as me and they have better computers and what not. It gets to 10,146kb then stops and the kb per second just goes all the way down to zero before closing out without a message appearing or anything. It then pops back up for about 5 seconds before closing again with no message. Please can anyone help? I have waited years for this game only to be held back by some unknown force that hates me >.<

If you’re installing via a disc, open the disc in my computer, and have the setup.exe run as admin. I had same issue an hour or so ago when I tried to install.

i gave up… and after 4 hrs i tried again and now it works!! I have no idea what i did.

Same thing is happening to me, except i am just downloading the patch. Just with 1 file left to download…and download speed drops to 0.00 kb/s

Your graphics card only supports shader model 2. Maybe you should update your PC every 10 years or so.

Sorry I’m bitter. Make that 5 years. Gw2 needs shader model 3. Which has been around for a few years.

That won’t help you in the long run though. Upgrade your PC.

I’m in the same boat as Rendar.3768. I’m only trying to download the patch, but the connection speed dies at 3 files remaining before just timing out. I’ve already sent my GameAdvisor report in via email, so here’s hoping that a solution can be found.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is? >.< I’d like to solve it

rjones.7694 is as bitter as he is correct: your system does not meet the minimum system requirements and therefor cannot run the game.

To anyone that is reading this: in the main page is a topic listed that tells you this as well, but if you post on the forums and expect help, post a GameAdvisor report. Your fellow players cannot access the reports you email in. And the forum mods may be able to access them, but even so; posting it here makes it easier and faster to access for them as well.

Post that report or nobody can help you.

to all of you who have the download speed drop to 0 issue, what type of broadband internet are you using? (I am using mobile broadband at the moment due to changing landline broadband changing). Everything I have tried has failed miserably. I had the 3 files remaining issue first and today I have the 1 file remaining issue get stuck at 98%. Already reported, game advisor file sent as well as the Hack This report log. Not posting them here as I don’t want to share the innards of my laptop with the whole world, thank you very much haha

I had to switch my MiFi to 3g to get the last files to download. Have had to do that for the last 2 patches.

Ur Grafix Cardz is old, so the game will not love U !1!

Well, after you’re all through telling the unloveableone that he must upgrade his computer, I’ll have you know that I have this issue on a new computer with the very latest GPU available.

I also doubt the game already chokes on an older shader version when its just downloading patch data at the very start up.

Yeah, same thing started happening to me when I started downloading the new build. I’ve had this happen before, but was never able to fix it before a new build was released.

Don’t believe us if you will, but the installer does actually kick out if you do not meet the minimum requirements.

I changed my videocard and it worked. Other people have had the same experience. But be cynical if you will.

That being said, if you are having problems on a different computer as well, can you post the GameAdvisor report from that computer?

Okay, assuming what you said is true, that means that the game is refusing my system for being below minimum specs. If that’s the case, I’m even more confused as to why I would be having this particular error. Unless I’m horribly mistaken somewhere, my system is well above the minimum specs required to run the game. Here’s my specs as of now:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64x
Processor: AMD Athlon™ II X3 445 Processor (3 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
RAM: 6 GB
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 260 (Driver Version 306.23)

Would that mean, in my case, that the current client might be getting a false flag on my machine and stopping because of that?

Again, this is assuming that my problem resides in this “Minimum Specifications” scenario.

One of my friends is experiencing this issue. and AFAIK he has 512 MB of video memory wich is more than enough (as stated on the back of the box) and Shader model 3 I cannot remember the exact GPU card but it was Nvidia and had is a PCI model or something…
