Greetings,

I am writing this post because I purchased this game with the understanding that the Macintosh beta would conclude and we would get a gold master client. I want to know if Arena Net ever intended to complete the Mac beta, or if this was just an outsourced port for the purpose of getting to my wallet. I would also like to know if your company is planning on any future support to our community.

It’s pretty sad to say, but the “Mac Beta”, will probably never end. The only reason I say this is because there’s no real client, it’s just a wrapped windows client. Hence all the limitations it has.

Today I decided to try the game out on windows using my machine, have to say the performance form the same hardware was a shock. If we’re lucky we may see a native client sometime in the distant future, but my general assumption is that a wrapper is good enough to allow mac users to play the title.

I find this a s little sly as the game was advertised to work on both platforms. But unless Anet hires a team to write a full client and work on it along side the main teams to make sure everything works right, we’re just going to have to wait and see what comes up.

You’re not alone, there’s a small section of this community that’s been waiting since the mac beta launch to play on a native client.

See how fast they are quick that is Anet to say no no we are surely working on a native client because we care about the retention of mac users and growth of that market. Nope silence as continued for nearly 2 years from them.
