I’ve been playing GW2 for past couple of weeks on this machine and everything was more or less fine. The fps is usually around kitten ( i play on low settings ). Last night I was playing and everything went fine – as ususal. However, today the loading times have increased exponentially and fps has dropped to 10-15. Ping, normally sits at 60-70, and today it is around 90-100. Note, that these measurements were more or less consistent in denser areas, therefore, changing cities or areas does not influence the output.

I am now wondering if the massive drop in FPS is due to my network connection (can high latency even cause drop of frame rate) or something else is responsible for this. Has there been an update last night that increases the system requirements, compatablity or something?

Thanks!

yeah, I read that people have problems with servers. That would probably explain the latency. But are ping and fps in any way related? I think it might be a different problem, maybe some incompatability with other software or something. However, I havent installed anything and no updates have been installed as well..

Ok, ping is back to normal and my fps is back to normal as well. Apparentl high latency can influence your fps.

Peace!

Since yesterday my FPS dropped to 5-10 where I was not having the issue the day before. Not sure what the cause of it is as no other game I currently have suffers the same issue. I tried both 64 and 32 client, still the same issue. Does not seem to be anything to do with ping as far as I can tell.
