Suggestions Laptop
It should run it just fine with medium-low settings, just beware of zerg armies shoving body mesh and particle effects into your laptop’s throat.
So while it will definitely run GW2, it won’t run it the greatest. I’ll throw some stuff for you to ponder:
- That laptop seems extremely expensive for the parts that it is coming with although I don’t know much about laptop prices
- 2.2ghz on a processor will not run GW2 that well with that many people on your screen. This game is very processor heavy. You can always overclock it but I’m not sure if you could get it up to 3ghz or not.
- Laptops aren’t the best idea for gaming because of two reasons in my opinion. The first one being that overheating is a big issue, when a laptop overheats it’s done for. So you’re basically using the laptop for a select time period till it’s gonzo and you have to get another one if you’re using it primarily for gaming (this is also a reason I don’t know if you can overclock your cpu because it might kill it 10x faster than normal) and two, you can’t just replace the parts in a laptop because they are glued together basically. It’s not like a computer where it has slots for each part to slide into which is also why if it dies, it’s dead.
- The operating system is Linux which at this time is the worst operating system to get until they get more support. I would suggest a Mac over that =/
- Lastly, 4gb of ram is really low for gaming nowadays. I wouldn’t suggest it at all. It’s just not enough memory. I run 16gb ram which is a bit overkill but I would suggest at least 8gb.
All in all, I would suggest building your own PC. I build mine for about the price you’re getting your laptop and my specs are as follows.
Intel i7 4770k 3.5ghz processor
16gb corsair vengeance ram
Nvidia Geforce 770 oc edition graphics card
2TB hardrive
Windows 8.1
With a top of the line case, mouse, and keyboard
That laptop is priced way too high imo and isn’t worthy of your money.
Hope I helped!
Hello guys.
So I wanna buy a laptop and I was wondering if this laptop link can run Guild Wars 2?If not can you suggest me a laptop for like 350 Euros that can run Guild Wars 2 ? The details can be on low it doesn’t bother me..
I wouldn’t count on medium to low settings… I have a beast of a laptop and run a comfortable 30 – 60 FPS (in WvW) unless its a large 3 way battle then some times may drop to 15 – 30 FPS.

As Cush.4063 said, better off building a desktop.

Well, here’s my experience with a low-end laptop.
Mine is i5-2410m, gt 525m playing at 1600×900 and 6gb RAM. http://tinyurl.com/l9dglry
CPU: Good for dungeons and open PvE, but it struggles at zergs and dragons and other big bosses. With lowest settings on both WvW players settings I get ~20 fps. Mine is around 40% better than that Pentium, and also you’ll get bottlenecked for the only 2 cores.
I’d recommend at least a Haswell i3-4000m or i5-4200U, which is more or less the same as mine, and forget about APU. With less, you’ll have a lot of problems to run the game at acceptable fps.
GPU: I have the gt 525m, which is in the bottom line of GPU that can run GW2, but I have it overcloacked to 710MHz (gt 540m runs at 672MHz). I play everything at minimum except native sampling and low postprocessing (at a resolution of 1600×900). I get around 55 fps at open world and 28 at zergs.
With that GPU you’ll be playing at the same fps, cause the lower resolution equals the lower performance.
RAM is more than enough, the game eats around 1.5gb, plus the typical 1.5gb of the system. With 4gb you’ll be able to run the game perfectly, but here it ends. I’d get at least 6gb and better 8gb. With that you’ll be able to have open the game, browser, msic player, TS, recorder and much more.
Unluckily for you, you’ll need to spend around 500€ to get a laptop that allows you to play at minimum with some fps and will last you some years. Cause most of cheapest laptops nowadays don’t have dedicated gpu, and without it you won’t be able to play GW2.
Finally, this is a video I did and where you can see how it’s like to play in lowest settings. In some parts you can see at the top-left part of the screen, the actual fps when recording, WHEN RECORDING xd Without recording it gets to 15-17 fps.

PD: If you get a gpu from the family gt 5xxM and have Windows 7, get the drivers 314.22, by far, the best for me, even much better than some of the newest. Windows 8 doesn’t support it.
i7 5775c @ 4.1GHz – 12GB RAM @ 2400MHz – RX 480 @ 1390/2140MHz
Bottom line man, if you purchase that laptop you’re really getting ripped off IMO in terms of price. Like I said, I built a top of the line high end PC for around the same price. If you’re purchasing it for gaming you’re going to be extremely disappointed. If you want some advice on what to purchase within your budget in more detail please pm me. I wouldn’t mind at all helping you out and saving you a poor decision
The main thing that is holding that laptop back is the B960 CPU.
Since the Laptop is about 500USD, and a logical CPU upgrade will run you about 150-200 used. I would suggest considering a different laptop model.
But if you are OK with the cost, and OK with doing a CPU upgrade yourself. I would get the laptop then hunt down a i7-2630QM(mine ran about 120USD from eBay).
The GT 540 will run GW2 just fine at your LCD’s native resolution (1366×768....Though 1360×768 will run better and use the CPU less.)
Info about the GPU in that laptop with Benchmarks; http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-540M.41715.0.html
I would say the FPS with that setup (different CPU, same Base Laptop model) would range from mid 60’s for normal play, 20-30 in the new LA events, and 15-18 for WvW full on zerg type content.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
