Yesturday i got suspended after i sent some gold to my alternative guild wars 2 account.
The suspension said i did “RMT”- “selling or buying gold” witch i did not o.O? Since i clearly own both of my accounts. i have already submitted a support tickets and hopefully this issue will be resolved. But how do i avoid this from happening again, it feelt kinda automatic and sudden?
I mean if i want to upgrade a character on my alternative account by supporting it with some gold from my old account. Doesnt alot of players do this?
Hmmm. Maybe before you send the gold to your other account, party up with it and say in party chat what you are doing. That you own both accounts and you are transferring money from one account to another. Something that the people who do the suspending can check out. Maybe you can ask support to see if both accounts can be tagged as yours in your support history. You may still get a suspension but you will have the digital trail to get unsuspended fast and this may lessen the chance of future suspensions.
Another possibility. I read that the trigger was a sudden increase in the bank balance. Don’t know if this is true, but don’t have your other account bank the money. Or just buy items that other account needs and mail the items to it, not money.

i will try that with support, and party up. But it still feelt like a Automatic suspension… prob better to send items/gears to my alternative account or use guild bank?
I got a suspension using the guild bank, trading gold between 2 others to get the title but the other two didn’t so its kind of random. The best way would be just to buy for your other account and email the items. Or don’t bank any gold sent. Send small amounts, 20 gold at a time maybe.

This happened to my roommate in my dorm, I was the one that sent him items and gold to complete his twilight. He was going to grab the final items (the icy runestones)
and was banned. I now sit in fear for my accounts safety. when I sent the mail I had made notes what it was for I never did map chat so my fingers are crossed. He had already submitted the ticket so I am sure when they re check his account it will be fine.

To clear out the obvious things.
Arenanet doesnt ban automaticly. Potential harmfull activity’s like RMT is detected automaticly. But the suspension only happens after a GM reviews the matter.
This means that the potential harmfull activity that got marked is not by definition the last thing that you did in game and it can be easy something from days or even weeks ago. Sometimes an RMT get caught and support goes through the list of all buyers in the past to even months ago.
This doesn’t mean that GM’s aren’t making mistakes. false positives are possible and it can happen that people get banned by accident A while ago there was some controversy over the amount of false positives. The support liason said here that the goal should always be 0 false positives, even though it is an unachievable goal. She also promised to start an internal discussion how to polish up the proces. This has resulted in a stead decrease of false positives.
In the end having followed this section of the forum for a good amount of time rest asure that everytime someone claimed to have had a false positive it was either solved by unsuspending or the supportliason made clear with very good research that it was not a false positive. I never had any doubt bout the support liason.
To both people in this thread claiming you are such a false positive. I am not in the position to say wether you are or not. Most import is that you file a support ticket so they will investigate the reasons for your suspension again. Good luck with that.

Just something for those who are debating buying gold from the RMT gang…. ArenaNet probably has very little difficulty tracking which accounts are the RMT accounts. I don’t work at ArenaNet but have 0 doubt that everything is tracked and stored for at least some time… your IP addresses, your account login and logoff times, all monetary transfers, etc. Everything. So if anyone is debating buying gold outside the game, you should probably just go and buy a second GW2 account legally since there’s a good change the one you’re currently using will be perma-banned, and rightfully so.
This is NOT directed at the op as I don’t know anything about his situation. It’s just for those debating buying gold outside the game. Don’t do it.
