I’m from time to time getting suspicious emails from noreply@guildwars2.com. It’s saying that “A log-in attempt from the following location is currently awaiting your authorization” and then there’s some information about ip, location where it tried to authorize. Does this mean someone is trying to phish me?

Also I have some problems changing my password. It’s saying that:

“Unavailable password. You or someone else has used it before, or it’s on a known list of passwords stolen from other games or websites. Please use a new, unique password for your Guild Wars 2 account. We recommend a new one made with four random, unrelated words, as shown in this comic strip.”

I tried all kinds of different setups but none working…

Help, please!

The email is log in verification by email which is an option the game has to make sure you account is not accessed by unauthorised people.

Secondly the password message is because you are attempting to use a password or combination of passwords that are already in usage by another user or have been compromised or extremely similar to compromised passwords and are now banned from usage as its a security risk.

Simply create a unique password and it will be fine. Stay away from obvious words or phrases and write the password down once accepted.

If it’s not your neither your location, it means someone have your account name and password, and you need to change it. Use a unique password. If you are having that problem it’s because the password you are choosing it’s not unique.

Please update your account to use a complex, unique (used nowhere else) password. Someone has your credentials now, and that’s not a good thing!

Do not accept those requests to authenticate or authorize those locations, of course.
