Guild Wars 2

Hi there,

Ever since I bought Guild Wars 2 I have been trying to get the game to play nicely. I have both PC and MAC and both have way over the required specs.

On Windows it isn’t even playable, It doesn’t even pass 10 fps.
On MAC it doesn’t even support Medium graphic settings, drowning to 10/15 fps immediately.

Is there any problem here? Or are the game developers that ignorant to be wrong on analyzing the required specs?

I read once that a game can be read as an application on Windows by software mistake, thus being processed in a different way by the PC, making it run a lot slower. Could this be the case?

minimum specs are to get it to load up. does not state anywhere it will run well at minimum.

the game is currently cpu bound which meens u need a good cpu to habdle this.

most of the time when ppl say they have “way over” the specs they normally have 4+ year old machine trying to run a modern game.

They should make a rule set to minumum requirements though..
Like in normal situation and the lowest settings you should be getting 30 FPS or something like that.

What is your system specs for both PC/MAC, i suspect are you using integrated GPU?

Where are you measuring FPS value at? Cities like Lion Arch, or out in PVE open field or WvWvW?

If you system is really “way” above minimum spec [read this] starting Q3 and beyond applies to you.

I have a 2nd desktop C2D E6400 with radeon 4650, barely above minimum requirement and it got 15-25fps @ 1680×1050 all low setting, PVE questing around outside of crowded cities & event. Playable? yes. Enjoyable? no.
