Terminating accounts in error
have you recently transfer large amount of gold between players? those probably made Anet suspect you are botting
Nope, only been playing the game for 38 days, have about 2 gold over 5 chars, never used the TP or sold anything to anyone, all I was doing was events for daily, I have never been abusive in chat, have very few mats in my bank, basically a starter player, no addons or 3rd party progs. And this seems to be the problem, so many people seem to have their accounts terminated for no reason, the checks need to better, I know getting rid of botts is a good idea but the way they determine who is botting needs a major re-think.
Same thing happened to me: Back up and running within 24 hours…
Although the ban like yours was in error – however they determine who or what botters ‘look like’ – their process is there to try and provide a better and safe gaming experience for everyone in the GW2 community. Fret not, I’m sure they want to pride themselves on keeping their customers happy and will give a fair review and response to those that log tickets and were banned/suspended accidentally. They’re not trying to be bad guys… Mistakes happen and like any successful company I’m sure they will review and tweak their processes if necessary.
For others…if it does happen log ONE ticket and wait patiently…
Glad to hear you’re back playing and welcome to GW2!

It’s a difficult challenge to be able to remove bots and not impact legitimate players. There are times when the one looks very much like the other.
No one is automatically banned. No one is tossed out because of a set of numbers reviewed by some numeric, mechanical bot detection program. Each account that is actioned is actioned because, in a human assessment of the available data, it appears that the account was being used to bot. (And remember, oftentimes a hacked account is turned into a botting account by the RMT that stole it.)
We do review all appeals and we do reinstate accounts, giving the “benefit of the doubt” in some cases and reversing what was clearly a human error in other cases. We are sorry for any false positives that occur, but remain committed to keeping the botter population in check. We hope that those who are inconvenienced will be understanding of that need and will accept our apology for their inconvenience along with our commitment to get them back into the game as quickly as possible.
