My systems specs are:

i7 2600k
AMD HD 7970 with 13.4 Catalyst Drivers(latest)
8 GB DDR3- 1600 RAM
Samsung HDD 7200 RPM – 1TB
Windows 7 – Updated to the newest build

But I get 20 FPS even on the lowest settings…. I run at 2560 × 1600 resolution but lowering that to 1600 × 1200 didn’t change anything, I still got 20 FPS on the lowest settings. Any help please?

Bump. Anyone have any ideas? Other games are working fine.

This game is badly optimized and CPU heavy so make sure your CPU is working on max when game is on. I get better fps on a 5 year old laptop with gt320m I get spiked from 15 to 45 fps in pve without AA and reflections rest on max. Many people were asking for some game techincal updates but we got only one update that removed culling in WvW. Rest stays same as beta. 9 months nothing…sob

At what part of theg ame do u specificaly get that FPS ? If its WvW then thats normal.

When the game first came out I had no issues…

Recently I started playing again and I am getting at max 10fps on my HD7970.

After trawling the forums it seems many people are having the same issue and also waiting for a fix. – which, judging by the amount of complaints over the amount of time probably will never happen.

I have really lost faith in ANET.

To be fair, if everyone with a 7970 had the same issue this forum would be flooded alot mroe than it is.

So there must be a client side fix.

I havnt used an AMD gpu in ages so icant help with the CCC settings but i sugest u play aroudn with those, try different dirver, try different ingame settings. And if all else fails. Do a fresh format and reinstall of ur OS and GW.

In actual fact come to think of it…. that lats batch of Windows 7 updates caused an issue with Rift, 1 of the updates broke the game so u couldnt even load it. To fix the issue u had to uninstall a particular update.

Check ur windows updates. uninstall all the latest updates that may have been installed when u first experiance the FPS drop. See if that helps.

I have auto update turned of so i havnt got the latest W7 updates , and i dont have any problems. I run that game at 3200×1800 on max settings and Supersampling (Relftion bugged os they areo n terrain and Sky) and im rocking 55-60 (Capped) fps in LA and open world.

This is in the beginning area of the Asura. There’s no one around me as far as I can see…..lol

I’m not getting much better results. That area is very heavy for CPU/GPU. FPS 26.5. Resolution 1920×1200. Every setting is maxed. Except FXAA is disabled. You will get better FPS when using fullscreen. I lost approx 5 fps if not fullscreen.

My specs are:
FX-8320@4800/2600
Radeon 7850@1150/1410
DDR3 2133-10-11-10-T1 4*2GB

this happens only in gw2 or to any game ?

because if this happen to all games i am sure you have forget to to put the extra external power to your vga

Use GPU-z (please find on google) to determine whether your GPU is working in optimum settings, that the motherboard’s slot is in x16 lane mode and not x8 or even x4, check that your GPU use is not below what seems normal and that your CPU is being utilized (not sure what you could use to check that) and check temperatures to make sure nothing is clocking down to avoid heat damage (Not saying make sure things run hot and stuff but I mean, sometimes things could clock down just because whatever reason.
Other than that… I don’t really know what’s up

It’s only happening on this game, not any other games.

I know my GPU is being pushed to the max based on the GPU usage provided by MSI Afterburner. My CPU on the other hand has like 15% utilization for whatever reason.

Are you sure its only 15-20fps? Being that the GPU is pegged at 100% something is wrong, might be a bugged driver or any number of issues. How long did this run for? And is the GPU WCed? The temp is very low for 20% fan speed and 100% load, or did you just open GW2 and take a shot? If so let it sit for a while and post screens then.

If you’re running 13.8 beta drivers, restart your computer and then give it a try. Or even if you’re not using those drivers just try a reboot.

My 7850 has some weird issue with 13.8 beta 2 drivers where GPU usage will be at 99% regardless of anything randomly, and a reboot (or driver restart) fixes it.

I have this same problem. Check your CPU usage, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s really low while the GPU is at 100%. ANET seriously needs to look into this issue.

That would be a very rare situation… It’s usually the other way around.

try to check if you are using your pci-e @x16.
You can check it with gpu-z

Issue still persists and it’s only in this game.

My GPU is definitely in the PCI-E x16 slot and willcore6125 you are right. My GPU is pegged at %100 and my CPU is being underutilized.

My specs remain the same and I am using the latest drivers from AMD.

try uninstalling the drivers then doing a reinstall as your gpu shouldnt 100% mines only about 65 max and i have a 7770 on near max minus reflection shadows and charter limit my cpu is at around 70-80% average due to being a pentium dual core 3.2ghz its under powered for the game and still avarage around 40fps most areas that arnt packed eg. LA
