Since about an hour ago my GW2 client doesn’t render the textures of armors anymore.
The issue definitely doesn’t lie with my computer as every other games I loaded up look just fine.
To give you an idea of what it looks like, I attached a screenshot while running max settings (AMD Radeon HD 7770) and a screenshot that my husband took while running lower settings (AMD Radeon HD 6450). The textures on the screenshot with the lower settings still look better than mine on highest!
This happens with any and all armor. But as you can see, the background (building, water etc.) looks just fine and also better on the higher settings than the lower ones, just like it should.

Anyone have any idea of what’s going on?
Thanks, Arch

This subsample armor texture issue has come up many times before. Basically, it seems that may have updated to the AMD beta driver set. AMD Beta drivers cause this problem on many of the Radeon cards from the HD5xxx to HD7xxx.

Fully uninstall and clean up any of your existing drivers and revert back to officially released drivers. This has been the only way to correct the problem for many others.

If you need links to the proper drivers or the clean up utility (or want to look at past threads on this issue) let me know.

I actually didn’t change anything about my drivers but I re-installed them anyway and now the problem is fixed. Still not sure what the original cause was though.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

No problem, I’m glad it is now fixed.

I’ve seen cases of some users reporting that their drivers for their Radeons were automatically being updating to the newest beta drivers, despite their not choosing to update them. I don’t know how a video card can automatically have its drivers updated to a new beta driver set when it gets released without user authorization, but it seemed to be the case for some others.

Happy (non-blurry armor) gaming!
