Hi, I am a guild mate of Rhongo, and he just got banned again three days after getting this incident resolved. He has asked me to post this on this thread:
Hi Gaile – so my previous ticket (130118-002396 – closed and resolved and account restored) was RESOLVED and my account RESTORED.
However again today while in-game I am booted with the same message (present ticket that is unresolved: 130121-002098).
I am extremely disappointed that this has happened again, included below are some of the reasons I put in my previous ticket that was resolved:
“1) I pre-purchased the Deluxe Edition
2) I purchased Gems from the BLTC with RL money
3) My main has a Legendary Weapon equipped (i.e. 100% map completion / Crafting / WvW / etc. and non-tradeable – do bots do that?)
4) If you check my play log, it is 99% in WvW, doing productive things (not killing tonnes of Krait in the Lake in the Borderlands as bots used to, I don’t see them anymore)
5) The remaining 1% I am not farming things in PVE, but perhaps in Divinity’s Reach doing light RP
6) If needed, I can (reluctantly) ask some of the people I have sent gold to, to corroborate the above (many a time when I send gold/items to people, I explicitly prefer to keep it confidential)
7) Last week I crafted an alt (Mesmer) to level 80 in one day, not sure if this was considered fishy behavior (I did this due to WvW needs in my guild and server)”

I believe everyone wants to know the answer to that. I guess a lot of people have had this happen to them too. We’d love to have at least a guideline of some sort to prevent this from happening to us. Thank you!

What I’m concerned about is that Rhongo appears to have been hacked twice? That’s a scary thing, and points to the need for using an authentication system, either Two-Factor or email.
According to my review, he was helped back into his account about 1 minute ago.

I’m not sure Gaile – I was playing this latest time when I got booted out of game and accused of being involved in gold selling/RTM etc. Since Saturday when I got unbanned I have only sent two gold to someone – I’m not sure if my account is flagged somehow.
I do have email authentication activated for log in attempts (only trusted source is my p/w secured wifi at home and at another house, I also just reset my modem and pw).
I have made a new password now that is long as hell.
But I suspect my account is flagged as I have not had any messages to authorize log in attempts except from me (eg logging into forum on my phone 3G).
I would appreciate any advice you can offer to prevent this from happening.

Nah, we are not flagging your account — there’s no reason that I can see why we’d do that! I talked to the team and what appears to have happened is simple human error, and they caught it pretty quickly, thank goodness. We track various in-game activities, but there’s nothing you did that should have resulted in a block. I’m almost wondering if it was a typo, or a wrong-click situation (like whomever was assigned to unblock the account had the account cached and blocked again — except who has something cached for three days?) So the latter theory isn’t likely, but knowing you were engaged in benign activities, I can’t come up with too many scenarios here.
I do not think this will be repeated, and I’m really sorry for that time out!

Hi Gaile ! I have the same problem too ! My accound terminated 2 times and i also equipped 1 legendary and left 20 charged lodestone to finish my second legendary !! Iam not a gold seller as the reason my account ban ! This is my second times banned and its 5 days from the first time !! Can u please check my ticket ! I really confusing as in i played this game for quite long and i dont want to lost it !! 130122-000283 is my ticket ! Please help me ! I really want to play more ! I sent gold to 2 of my best friend ! They are my real life friend !

Based on my experience:
I would advise you 2 to check your credit card/bank statements. The finance department may have refunded your guild wars purchase automatically on your termination therefore leading to a disabling (albeit allowing for a short time of play before doing so).
The error message related to this is usually on the lines of ‘Account has been suspended due to an account issue’ However there will be cases where the message tells you that you have been terminated for X reason, in this case RMT.
If you have indeed been refunded, open a support ticket telling them you have an idea of what is the issue with your account and request for your account to be released so you can buy and apply a new serial code to it. This may help speed up the process by letting your ticket be forwarded to the relevant team faster to deal with the issue.
