I was one of the people who logged into the Karka event and crashed right before the ancient Karka boss thing died. So I never got my items. I submitted a ticket, posted here on the forums, and waited.
…Today I log in and there’s an Ancient Karka Box in my mail inbox. I open it up and find my inventory filled up with yellows and oranges. That really made my day, and I wanted to say so here, publicly, because it seems to be so rare that the GW2 devs get thanked for their efforts.
How absolutely wonderful for you to post this, and I’ll be sure the devs see your comments. We’re glad to be able to make the situation right for you, and appreciate the time that you and other players waited while we got this all aligned.

I was just coming to the forums to give my thanks as well. I did not do the event, everything was so bugged and lagged I could not complete any of it, so rather than have days of frustration and sadness, I opted out of the whole thing.
I am happy for those who got their reward today, however, they have more patience than this cranky old redheaded woman.
Congrats to all! And thank you Anet, although I did not get a chest, this does much to restore my faith in you guys, and as my pappy would say: You done good.

Actually, I myself did not participate in the final event, I opted for a family dinner, movie and quiet time instead. I logged in this evening and I have a letter from the customer support team with an ancient Karka chest in it.. o_O
I hate to report these kinds of bugs… but.. well.. here it is -_-
ok where is my Ancient Karka Chest? All my friends get 2nd. they already get it at the event before, why they getting another one on their mail again?
I’m still waiting to receive my Ancient Karka chest as well. The only other person I play the game with has received his.
Is it still a case of waiting for the box to be mailed to us or have they all been sent? I only ask because i was Dced during the boss fight and am hopefully waiting for one myself.
On the Facebook page they said the script is running and to have patience. There are many to get to, so give it time! Pretend Santa is on his sleigh, but has not made it to your chimney yet.

The script has been run, but I suggest you wait until tomorrow before contact Support, in the event you qualified for a chest but did not receive one.

Not sure where I should add my two cents, but I just wanted to say thanks for a happy resolution of this situation. I really appreciate ANet following through with this after the frustration a lot of us experienced, and I hope this is a sign of smoother events to come!
Just wanted to say thank you as well. Although I wish I could have participated more fully in the event, I really appreciate that Anet is making it up to those of us who got disconnected. Fingers crossed the next one goes better!

honestly speaking, i already forgot about this. and i was surprised ArenaNet team went for their words. This clearly shows how they love their customers in times of trouble.
Although i just wish this coming christmas, if there is a big event again, we won’t be disconnected from the game.

I also appreciate how much you care about making things right for people. I have -not- received a chest, but also don’t qualify as I did the whole karka event and looted the chest in game. I am very happy to see other people getting the chests now, even the ones that technically shouldn’t … but then I love seeing other people open presents, always have. Guildies have been linking today’s lovely things and I’ve gotten to see some nice skins as a result.
ArenaNet, please don’t listen to the rabid belittlers who claim you are in some sinister way out to ruin their lives. It’s been obvious all along that you love your game and want your players to love it too. Today’s effort is part of all that. Are you doing perfectly? No. Are you trying to? Yes. I really wanted to say thank you for this, too.
I participated in quite a bit of the weekend event, but because of repeated disconnects my progress never counted toward completion, and the only tangible thing I got at the time was a repair bill that exceeded what I earned.
I felt pretty bummed about that – not because I’d been expecting any kind of spectacular reward, but because it seemed like as far as the game was concerned it didn’t even matter that I’d been there. It was more the principle of the thing than that I wanted any specific piece of loot.
It made me really happy to find the chest in my mail tonight. It was nice to get a couple of rares and exotics, but what really made my night was the box and the karka shell, because it was being acknowledged that I was part of this event. It made me feel that my participation mattered to the world of Tyria after all.
So thanks, dev team, for taking the time to do this. I look forward to participating in future events!
I was partially at fault for my girlfriend not receiving the event loot (I got her killed while trying to complete credit for the monthly by going after the endlessly spawning hatchlings, then her loading screen froze when she tried to respawn at the waypoint), so I just wanted to say thank you for lifting the guilt off my shoulders. You cannot imagine how bad I felt seeing our other party members exclaim about the wonderful loot and being unable to find the chest anywhere when we finally made it back to the group. Thank you!!!

i still do not have the chest reward.
the mailing list has missed a lot of us,
and sent many chests to people who already got them at the event (according to forum threads on the subject).
i dont understand what keeps going wrong,
but it is making me more and more upset.

I attended as much of the events as I could. Patiently waiting for the scavenger hunt to get fixed. Attended the karka invading lions arch but because of the lag and client crashes hated it. Then I crash before the event even started on Sunday so gave up and went to be with my family and watch TV instead.
Now I see people who already got the chest getting it twice and people who did not log in all weekend getting them.
Me? I get nothing.

I’m with you somehow as you did anything at least, but only because it went wrong for some people (meaning they got the reward without actually participating), this was meant to be a reward for participating in the final event, which really was long, partially boring and a bit costly.
I was one of those people, got clear to the Ancient Karka, had him almost done….my toddler reached up and minimized me, the lag from bringing my game back up caused me to d/c…. Ofc when I logged back in I was in an overflow that had already completed the event and I missed out on the end of it.
=) I was rather surprised to log in this morning and see mail with a shiny new box in it =D the GW2 team and all the mods I think are doing a great job in trying to find fun new things for us to do, and reward us when we deserve it.

I still haven’t received my chest, I’m being patient but I’m receiving a lot of automated responses and abuse for this, it makes it so frustrating and even more frustrating that people who hadn’t logged in for days are getting them, on top of people getting second ones. It’s nice and all to say thank you to arena net, but it would also be nice to atleast receive and apology, or something other than an auto response. Gaile Gray was happy to hear a thank you, but as a human too it would be nice to hear a ‘sorry’ or a ’we’ll help you as much as we can’ or even a ’don’t worry’.
