Same here, I thought it reset my graphical settings at first, but I compared them and they are the same. I’ll take better performance and no rebooting any day!

Can you let us know what Mac you’re running this on? I’d like to know what to expect, as it seems results are varying wildly between systems.

Agreed! Much better performance in the Mac native client. Now, make zoom work with a Magic Mouse.

Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock.

Uncheck Mac Beta: use scrolling gestures to change direction

Or do what I do and give up on the magic mouse for gaming

Not aware of the Uncheck Mac Beta option.. no reason not to use the magic mouse.

Look in the options, it’s a setting. Uncheck it and zoom on the magic mouse will work!

I am seeing a trend. ATI and Intel have great performance (I am getting 20+ frames on an Intel 3000 HD), while Nvidia is having kitten performance for many.

I thought it was just in my head but I see others are having a similar experience. This runs smoother on the ported Mac client than it does on Bootcamp with Win 7 for me. I’m playing on a late 2009 2.8 i7 iMac 27" with 4gb of RAM and the old ATI 4850HD video card. This is with OSX 10.8.1.

I’m running similar (less RAM), diabluz. I’m getting about 20ish at max (Shadows on high, not ultra). It got rid of the stuttering problem I was having in Windows 7 with only a minor frame rate hit.

To get High Res character models enabled, it says it need a Map change. What does that mean?

Just to let you guys know… Mac Client is using Transgaming Cider… As far as I know, that is wrapper engine not native… On my 2011 MBP with ATI6750 with 1G VRAM I am getting 30FPS with medium setting while on same MBP on bootcamp, I am getting close to 50FPS with higher than medium settings.

While I love Mac Client and effort from ArenaNet, I will stick to my gaming PC to play GW2 or bootcamp.

Velkis, it probably just needs to reload all the models, which happens on a map change.

Actually, high textures aren’t available at all right now.

Same here, might just be something in settings, but when I loaded this up under Mac OSX instead of Windows the graphics were so much better/smoother. Thanks again for this client!!

Sur mon client Mac je tourne a la moitié en taux de rafraichissement que sur ma partition bootcamp Win7

jai un Imac 2011 i7 a 3,4ghz
4Go de ram DDR3
Intel graphics radeon HD 6970M a 1Go
OSX 10.8.2

je tourne en moyenne a 30FPS dans des zones lvl 20-25

avec mon bootcamp, Windows 7 en 64 bit, je tourne au moins a 40-50FPS

Plein ecran
taux par defaut
limiteur: illimité
Taille interface: grande
animation: élevée
anti crénelage: aucune
environnement: élevée
distance niveau détail: aucune
réflexion: Toutes
textures: élevée
rendu echantillonage: super echantillon
ombrage: moyenne
shaders: moyenne
post production: aucun

textures personnages hautes résolution: choché

avec les statistique équivalentes, le client Mac n’est pas assez puissant…
du coup je reste sur mon bootcamp win7

apparently, still the case. Running on Nvidia 330M GT with every setting on lowest and it still lags like a motherkittener. Shame, makes the experience quite frustrating
