It seems my toaster can not handle this game like it used to.

In all serious, does anyone know what this is/what causes it? I’m guessing graphics card is dying but that’s as far as I got with my non-computer savvy brain.

Just wondering, where does this happen (at what point in the game)? How often?

AMD FX-8320 on a MSI 970S-G46
4×4 GB CL9, Radeon HD7850
240 GB SanDisk SSD, 1 TB Seagate B.E.

This happened maybe a minute after I logged in yesterday in Gendarran Fields.

Now I KNOW this isn’t what it is, but it reminds me of RF interference from a HAM radio back in the day.

But it’s definitely some sort of interference…root cause of that could be bad grounding, bad cable/connection (either monitor or card) or (like you said) failing component (monitor or card likely).

Cheapest troubleshooting: If you can replicate the error, swap cables then swap monitors (if you have another), check your power supply connection to motherboard (for the ground theory)… saving card for last.

Wow that’s funny “Ham radio interference”, I’m a ham radio operator and have never seen any thing like that on my PC screen and my gaming system is it the same room as my radios. Yes it does look a little like TVI from an RF signal but a more likely it is over heating video card how long has it been since the OP has had his case open up and cleaned out. PC systems are dust magnets, even a little dust can cause over heating.

put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens

Well, saying “HAM radio” interference was wiser and clearer to most folks than saying “running illegal power amplifiers unlicensed on FM sideband”.

Haha, I like the HAM radio comment. As for cleaning it’s probably due for another. Will have a look around inside when I do that.
Thanks for the feedback!
