I’ve been trying to play for the past 30 minutes and I keep dcing and completely freezing from lag… Nothing else is having an issue, just this game… Any idea on when this is going to be fixed so my game is playable again?

Same here. I think ANET might have shifted to cheap servers to cut cost….megaservers, lag in WvW, reset night dcs….all point to the same direction…

Was happening me all day as well. Finally gave up and loaded up another online for a bit. No connection problems in that one… which actually surprised me as I was quick to blame and rage at my single option ISP monopoly provider…

I’m having latencies I would have if I was playing in American region, but I’m playing in Europe.

It’s as if the European servers were actually physically located far from Europe.

I do not dc, but my lagg is tremendous after the festival of the four winds patch. When I use an attack, I have to wait 4-5 seconds before it does it. I am starting to get kittened, and angry.

Same here, it started 2 days ago after a quick patch and now it is impossile to play. I checked my ping while in game and it is stable at 1400, but other games are running really well (LoL, Tera, etc)

You all in Europe? If so, what’s your ISP? I have online.nl.

Have you also had this problem reoccuring? I had it about 2-3 weeks ago. And then around 2-3 weeks before that. It keeps coming and going. Seems it’s somewhere in Frankfurt(?) that our isp is routing us through? As I can’t even play GW1 either.

I started playing guild wars 2 about 2 weeks ago, I never had the problem of lag, but after the season of the four winds, it laggs literally every day.

About those numbers where our isp is routing through I do not know, I do not know alot about these technical things.

Same here, having INSANE lag issues. The game is completely unplayable. It freezes 5 – 10 seconds, sometimes it even disconnects me.

Edit: Should say I’m in Europe (Austria), provider is Tele2.

We all need to be contacting our ISPs and getting angry with them as it seems to be down to how they are routing us to GW2’s servers.

So, we have to call them and say that our internet connection is slow and they should fix it? I really do not know what to say to them, because I am not a computer person.

Same issue here. Playing from Brazil, Blackgate server. Connects, freezes, drops constantly. If it doesn’t drop, dreadful lag.

Internet is absolutely fine for everything else, including other games.

Log in to GW2 and type /ip in the chat box. Make a note of the ip address (except for the very last colon and the number following it.) Go to the start menu on windows, type cmd in the box. In that prompt box that pops up type: tracert and then the ip address you noted earlier. Make sure to put a space between tracert and the ip address. Send that to your isp and also complain that they aren’t providing you a good connection to GW2 servers. They should be able to see from the trace you gave them where the problem lies or they may ask you to run a pathping, etc (which they should give instructions for.)

Nothing will happen unless enough of our isps are made aware of the problem. :/

My problem is solved.
The problem is mabey our routers, I tried everything and nothing worked. I than tried resetting my router configuration and it suddenly worked perfectly and smooth. Try it, mabey it works for you too.

I only have issues with the Dragon Brand Borderlands. EBG etc play fine but as soon as I go to DBBL i lag out, this is ridiculous.

Your servers are kitten. I’ve gone through 3 different ISP, 4 different routers, doesn’t matter. Other games do NOT lag to this degree, and if they ever do its usually spelled out loud and clear as a server difficulty somewhere on their official site or launcher. If you have the time and resources to put out childish gem store items, you should have fixed this non sense ages ago. How am I supposed to enjoy ANY content when the ghost of Christmas lag is lurking about waiting to kick me off at any given time?

I get the same thing. About an hour ago I was running around in EBG with no issues. I switched to DBBL 5-10min of gameplay and I DC. I restart the game, load back into game and go do some PvE, no issues. I think “Hey, I should go help out in DBBL because we have no PPT.” I load in, go to flip bay, get outer down, start working on inner, then BAM!!!!!!!!!!!! DC’d again.

Oh as much as I’d love to have this be an internet connection issue, it isn’t. I have run speed tests to multiple servers on speedtest.net, even to clear across the country and have no latency issues and still get a great connection. It is simply this game, I have no problem with any other games, Netflix and Hulu stream just fine with no issues, but yet I am lagging out so bad that my game disconnects…

If it is any help, a lot of this has been on the Maguuma server when I am in Dragonbrand’s borderlands.

And I’m in Ohio, USA. So I shouldn’t even have an issue with this. Not sure where the Maguuma server is located but there is no reason that I shouldn’t be able to play at all due to lagging out so bad that I dc constantly. I can play for about 5 minutes before I lag out and dc..

Hay, I’m from W.A. Australia and I’ve being experiencing unplayable PvP/PvE skill delay for the last week….and it comes to some comfort that I’m not the only one lagging.

I’m from Germany and these lags happen a lot to me and my boyfriend.

Most of the time it’s only a 5 second-everything-seems-frozen lags, but there are also a few times when he get a dc as a result.

I can also confirm, that this problem only occurs with guild wars 2.

This lag is reeeeally anoying because we die alot and miss out on loot chests from tequatl and wurm.

Back again, looks like the game was only giving a one time perfect performance. And now it started to lagg again alot.

My daughter is having the same unreal lag problems since the last update.

Previous we had no issues the game ran fine apart from grpahics crashes occiasionnaly on loading a map. It is not a top spec computer but she has previously PVE’d since game came out on this rig with no problems. Now lag is so bad it is unplayable.

Yet behind the same router and same connection I have no lag issues.

So thinking it must be the computer I have updated the Graphics Drivers, Vista is SP2 and is fully updated. Checked using Malawarebytes and AVG all clear. Deleted temp files and basically used AVG tool kit to tune PC up. Followed guide at top of this forum for Nvidia cards and it is still just as unplayable.

Oh and done a speedtest from UK to West Coast USA and all seems okay with D/L 13mb and upload 10mb.

Other games like Left4Dead2 and TF2 all run without a hitch.

Same for me, past week or so I get a lot of dc and also these huge lags where the screen freezes for 15 sec and looks like I’m gonna crash (and either I crash or the game return). After waiting for Teq today 1½ hour and then at the end of the fight this happens, makes you wanna play something else than GW2, just a waste of time.

Got a question for Lothirieth and Elfspartan. Did you had any success on fixing the lag in the game? My ISP is also online.nl and the game is unplayable . Did not play for a couple of months and playing now is really frustrating.

Nope it stil laggs, i tried other games but those wouldnt work 2. Like world of warcraft, i lagged as hell there. But only 2 days and i have a new internet provider.
