Basically I wrote a simple ticket asking if they can reset the guild creation limit for me just this once- which shouldn’t be too hard to do. I made a couple mistakes in making my own guild but got my act together and knew what I was going to do on the 3rd and final one.

But I couldn’t do it since the limit is 2 guilds per week. I didn’t know that, to be honest. So I sent a ticket since I’m so excited to create my own guild lol. Simple request, really. Plus, it’s my first request to gw2 support.

But they messed up.

“Thanks for contacting us! Your request … has been received, and is being reviewed by our Support team”

ok then. I’ll forgive you. For now.

“Hello,
It’s been several days since you submitted your ticket, and we are very sorry that you have not heard back from an agent! The delay may have been related to high ticket volume, or it’s possible that the issue you wrote about is complex and has taken extra time to research. In either case, we want to apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
We’re going to flag your ticket to try to speed up the process of review and resolution. Thanks for your patience and we look forward to helping you very soon.”

It really takes that long to review something as simple as resetting my own guild creation? It’s already been 4-5 days and my guild creation limit is probably going to reset before they even get to my ticket. I thought they would respond within a couple days since it’s just a limit problem.

So the what was the point of my ticket!? Horrible first-time experience that makes me wonder if all tickets have delayed/late responses. At least it’s better than nexon though.

They currently have to deal with probably thousands of tickets regarding gem refunds after the feature patch.

Yeah but don’t they have different groups of tech support dealing with different things? Are all the people in support just fixing the gem refunds??

They would probably not have ‘reset’ your Guild limit, anyway. Most likely they do not have the tools to do such a thing. Just as waiting for transfer cool-downs or WvW transfer cool-downs or most any other cool-down can not be waived.

Like you said, the cool-down is nearly over, so you will be able to create a Guild soon. =)

I really doubt that CS agents can reprogram the game on a whim. They have tools to do some things, yes, but only what is programmed for them and only within the guidelines given to them by their supervisors. They cannot change the cooldown period on server transfers, for example, no matter how many people ask them to.

They are flooded with requests relating to issues from the big patch earlier this month, they don’t separate the easy requests from the hard. Each is handled when it’s handled. So what is so terrible about waiting a week to create your guild masterpiece? I created one guild, a year and a half ago, to serve as personal storage for my wife and I, and never felt the need for anything more.

I was just really excited lol. You know that feeling, right? When you’re excited and you want it right now or else it won’t be as fun if you get it later? lol. Plus, my excitement has already faded. I’m not sure if I’ll make a guild right now. The least they can do is tell me that they just can’t do it. But they didn’t do that.

But thanks for your response.

.

On the other hand, there has been an increase in reports of hacked accounts. Do you think a CS agent should put aside an investigation or restoration of a compromised account to dash off a quick note saying “sorry, we can’t do that.” Not saying that CS would ignore you, but there are thousands of more serious situations being taken care of right now.

The support staff of Arena Net have more important things to do than whip up a magic button to put you ahead of the millions of players who follow the rules and the 2-guilds-per-week limit.

Seriously; I’m stunned that someone would waste the time of support staff with a ridiculous request to let them break the rules and that they imagined that doing so would be “simple”.

Get over yourself. Wait a week to create a new guild like every other person in the game, don’t waste the resources of game support for “I’m special” requests and don’t whine about not getting your instant-gratification way.

The odds that they are going to reset something that will reset itself are slim to none.

By your own admission, the reason you need this done is completely your fault. Just so happens they are too busy to give you a polite NO email within your desired time frame.
