Computer Specs
I5-2500k 4.3ghz x4
ASUS p8p67
Kingston HyperX 120gb SSD
EVGA GTX560Ti Superclocked
750w powersupply

All effects highest/Ultra Except Render Sampling is still as Native

when my screen is full of Red names" Enemy" such as 80vs80vs80
im only getting 9-11 fps

I’ll try to make it simple~ im thinking to upgrade my video card to Nvdia GTX760
IS it worth it?
will i get better fps in WvW?
I dont expect to have 40-60 fps in WvW , BUT ~ at least give me 20ish-30fps
I know this is a oldschool topic and i hope i wont get the same answer again such as
" its a programming/software/Server problem of the GW2 " no matter how good your PC is, you wont have any high fps. Or get a better cpu i7 blah blah, cuz i know my CPU is still doing great nowadays, the i7 4770k is only 10ish % better performance than mine~

I just hope to know how much differences i get if i upgrade my gtx560ti to gtx760
does it give me 10 extra fps in WvW?

Thank you very much guys!

As much as I hate to say it, because I’m against it, you need to lower your settings a bit in WvWvW. I’m playing on an i7 930 2.8GHz with an MSI GTX 560 Ti and I get a minimum of 15 in large zergs, all settings to ’’High’’ and ’’Native’’ sampling. To be honest though, on my 4770k with an Asus 780 DirectCU II, in the biggest zerg I’ve been into I got a low of 35-40 so it is not a problem on your end. It is always nice upgrading our hardware so if you can afford to upgrade to the GPU you mentioned then go for it but I wouldn’t expect a solid and stable 60 fps in WvWvW. However, since you expect playable fps as you mentioned, go for it all the way.

Thank you for your reply
First,
1) if i am willing to lower the graphic settings , i dont have to start this topic >.>

2)im not talking about when you are alone in the WvW wildfield and having 60fps, im saying its BGvs JQvs TC 80v80v80 in Garrison 3 servers killing each other, which is 240 players in your screen!

3) There are many other peeps who have i7 4770k+ gtx770, or i5 4670k+gtx680
they never go higher than 30 fps in WvW " they averagely getting 20ish

I definitely feel your pain here, I’m all the way against lowering the visual settings since our specs are way above the minimum and because, well, good graphics immerse you in a game and we wanna get the best out of our equipment but, as I said, it’s not a problem on our end. For me, PvP maps are 50-60 fps, PvE as well, but in cities and WvW I get lows of 15-20 and average of 25 – 30. On the 780 I get an average of 45 – 50 in WvW. I wish I could do more but I guess that’s the way the game is made. Upgrading your GPU will give you an fps boost though your bottleneck will be your CPU, since this game uses our CPU the most. But then again, your CPU clock is definitely good so I strongly believe you are gonna see improved performance on playable fps

As much as you hate to hear it, turn your Shadows down to low. In my experience when 100 players are trying to kill you the least of your worries is how good the shadows look. Also you might question this, but turning character limit down as well helps a ton. You will see the nearest enemies as well as everyone’s nametags so you can estimate how many of them are out there. I believe it’s better to have no lag and thus being able to kill your enemies than enjoy the scenery while laying down dead.

As for your question, a GPU upgrade isn’t gonna help you. If you need reassuring, download GPU-Z and check your GPU usage in zergy situation. If it’s below 99% more power isn’t gonna help you.

Drop shadows and turn on culling. Reflections as well. A new GPU won’t help a ton; your best bet is to OC your CPU note and turn down the CPU-heavy settings.
