Guild Wars 2

I have only played for a ~hour around midnight so its definitely not at peak times but this fixed most of my issues…so far.

Go to your Guild Wars 2 folder and rename the “local.dat” file to I think whatever you want (I changed it to Guild Wars 2 local.dat). Start the launcher up and it will download a small patch (makes a new local.dat file) So far I havent DC’ed once and have only had minimal lag. Also heard it decreases load times and increases FPS but not positive on that.

Thought I would pass this along as it worked for me and I can finally play the game again.

You will probably have to do this regularly because the new file will slowly get bigger untill the problems start again

Hm I wanted to test this because I’m having lag and disconnects but when I open my guild wars 2 folder I can’t find this “local.dat” file. My GW2 folder only contain 4 files and there’s isn’t one called “local.dat”, I got one called GW2.dat but nothing called local.dat
Really want to try this if someone can help me.

I dont know if mine is different than yours but mine looks like…

Guild Wars 2 folder (click it)
-another GW2 folder with exe, gw2.tmp, gw2.dat inside
-music folder
-local.dat

EDIT: Actually i just DC’ed again, guess i jumped the gun on this…

I just have one GW2 folder in my programs file that contain the 4 files you mention(exe, gw2.tmp, gw2.dat and one called crash.dmp)

Try looking at your documents and look for the guild wars 2 folder and open it. you should see the local.dat there. below average must have installed guild wars 2 on the documents folder so he had only 1 folder for the game and local.dat
