Q:

I feel as if I’ve had this issue before, but I can’t for the life of my remember how I fixed it.

I’ve done a fresh install on my machine after a defragmentation a while back, and all my drivers are supposed to be up to date.

I’ve tried running the game in various graphical settings, in various resolutions and both as full screen, windowed and windowed fullscreen (my usual preferance).

Thank you, Reborn.

The repair did not seem to fix any issues. I will take a look at the VGA sticky to see if that might help.

AVG seems to be some form of antivirusprogram. I don’t run this program, so AVG doesn’t relate to me.

Am looking through this thread:

To see if I can find any information. I think I updated Direct X recently, when installing Starcraft 2, Heart of the Swarm, so it should be quite recently updated.

Not AVG (the anti-virus), VGA (graphics drivers).

I believe it is due to a corrupted driver file. I recommend not just reinstalling your graphics drivers, but running a driver cleanup utility for your graphics card brand and OS version in order to completely remove any files that may be corrupt and then reinstalling the drivers.

Simply reinstalling drivers does not always replace the existing drivers and files. Many installers simply check the existing versions of the files to make sure they are properly ‘signed’ and are the correct file size, etc. If it matches, then it does not replace it, thus leaving the corrupted file to still be on your system even with a reinstall.

It’s best to uninstall/wipe existing drivers before reinstalling them. If you need some help with this, what version graphics card are you using? Nvidia, AMD? I can link you to the cleanup utility for your manufacturer and to the latest drivers if you need.

Dont quote me and im not able to check atm but if i remember corectly, I had the same issue before i changed a setting in Nvidia Control Panel.

If you have Nvidia, try this. Right-click on your desktop and select “Nvidia Control Panel.”
3D settings – under tab global, Anti Aliasing FXAA turn ON. Press use and ok then start the game. Also try enabling FXAA ingame settings if not.

Hello, everyone.

I forced an update for my videocard (it was already the latest version, but I did it anyway) and two blue screens of death later, everything seems to work flawlessly now.

Thanks for your help.
