Hi this [redacted], its been awhile since Ive been on gw2 and I been wanting to go back to the amazing adventures. Most of my friends have been playing on a server called Gates of Madness. I was going to transfer from my world to their world but I never received my free world transfer from beta. I was wondering if there is any way this can be fixed and I can get it back. [Email redacted], please contact me as soon as possible.

I do believe that ended a couple of years back. The only free transfers now are if you delete all your chars, putting all non soulbound items in your bank first. If you do that and then go to character select, you’ll get an option to chose a new world. Other than that, it will cost you.

However servers only matter for WvW and if your friends are on a different data server group than you. If you don’t do WvW and you are in the same data center (NA or EU) then there is no need to transfer.

For one I have no charchracters, I took all my soulbound items off my character and from my inventory and put them into my bank. Then I I clicked character select and I didn’t get a “free transfer like u said”.

What message did you receive?

If you placed soul-bound items in the bank, and then deleted your character(s), you will not be able to retrieve and use them. Only non -soul-bound items can transfer with you and be used.

Have you transferred within the last 7 days? There is a cooldown period between transfers.

Accounts without active characters

The transfer fee is waived for accounts without any active characters. This allows players just starting out to change to another world that is not full. You also can transfer without cost if you delete all your existing characters. The next time you log on without any characters, you will be prompted to choose a new home world. ¹ Please be aware of the following:

Transfers to any game world — whether free or paid for with gems — are allowed only if the population of the world is at less than capacity.
Transfers to any game world — whether free or paid for with gems — are allowed only once per seven days.
If you decide to delete the characters on your account, Customer Support cannot restore them, in whole or in part.
Items left on the characters will be deleted and cannot be restored. Move items to your personal account bank to preserve them.

as Gaile said, there was not a ‘free world transfer’ from beta. There were free world transfers for a while, but it isn’t like there was a ‘ticket’ or ‘coupon’ you got to redeem years later. Unfortunately you missed out on the free transfers, unless you did indeed delete all characters. That does work, but you have to go through the motions of transferring your character as if you were buying it. From the char select screen, you would click on World Selection, then the world you want, then click transfer.

the free transfers were ended around 2 maybe 2 1/2 years ago Gaile Gray, but yeah that was so long ago, the only part I remember was transfering to a server that now needs to be merged to another.
