I’m going to try to make sense but honestly, I’m kind of confused.

Before the update that led to the wardrobe in April 2014 I had taken a couple month break from GW2. When the update came I decided (like I do every few months) to come check out what had been added on my thief.

Now, I don’t know if anyone remembers when the wardrobe was first added…but I think that everyone was given like 1 free transmutation charge? As I was looking around at everything (which seems very overwhelming even now when I log in because nothing looks at all like it used to), I accidentally clicked something and my hood…disappeared.

What I was left with, was the devil horns that were in my inventory at that moment. I worked kitten hard on that character to get her the way I had wanted her to look. Like, really hard. She was my solo character and I had put way more effort into that character than I had any character in any game before (or even after to be honest).

I was so floored that I had done something I didn’t even understand in the blink of an eye and literally see no way out of…that I haven’t given GW2 any playtime (even though I would like to start playing again). So now what do I do? How do I get her hood back?

If anyone has read through this, thank you. If you have any solutions, I would love to hear them. Thank you for your time.

First image is how she should look…second is now how she currently looks.

Once a skin is unlocked, it is permanently located in the wardrobe. Using the wardrobe, you can apply unlocked skins to a worn piece of equipment at the cost of 1 transmutation charge. Skins, as an item type, also still exist, which can be applied directly and at no cost. The horns were originally a skin, which you may have used, otherwise you must have either used the wardrobe or maybe equipped a different item. Assuming you changed the skin, you’re going to have to use the wardrobe to apply the skin you want. Transmutation charges can be obtained through map completion, by doing any of the cities.

If you have older transmutation charges stashed away, back when they were items, you can also use them to convert them to the newer transmutation charges.

I think I love you…

I hadn’t looked in the wardrobe to see if that hood was there. I had no idea. It’s in there though!

I also didn’t think to look to see if I had any of the older ones stashed away. I had 30!!!

Have a great day. <3 Thank you so much.

So, I had completed Brisban Wildlands (I think) in the past but noticed I was missing 1 POI and 1 waypoint. I just went to get them and it said I completed the map but I didn’t get any new charge (or that unidentified dye).

Is that because I had previously completed it? (I’m assuming those were added after I had completed it because those were the only ones missing).

yes, it is because you completed it before and got the rewards when you originally completed the map

You won’t get necessarily get Transmutation Charges or definitely won’t get Unidentified Dyes for clearing Open World maps.

The only maps that guarantee Transmutation Charges are the six Cities; Lion’s Arch, and the 5 racial cities.

For many questions, you can use the Wiki for information, accessed via the link above.

Welcome return.

Every time you complete a map you get either a Black Lion chest key (if you are lucky, those are coveted over transmutation charges) or a transmutation charge. You also get some materials that are of the same crafting level as the map you completed (things like ore, fabric, leather, etc), and a couple of pieces of gear that are the same combat level as the map you completed. Dyes are sometimes rewards for leveling up a character and for doing the personal story, you can also get them from a Black Lion chest.

Unidentified Dyes are also part of the map bonus system. You just need to do events in the map to get those.
