Triple monitor system trouble
I know I don’t have this issue on nVidia surround and UKNightWatch doesn’t on Eyefinity, so it might be something on your system. Make sure you’re running fullscreen (not windowed or fullscreen-windowed), try deleting your local.dat, and updating to the most recent catalyst drivers.
Just an update on that!
Eyefinity is back to having the problems!
Badly scaled or not centred screens and UI elements in play are out to the furthest left / right monitor edges.
In the thread linked, I was happy for the apparent fix, but it did not last!
I would also like to point out that the third party fix mentioned in the thread is used at your own risk! I do not suggest anyone uses it as in doing so you would risk breaching T&C / user agreement. Anet have responded that users use third party fixes at their own risk.
The Flawless Widescreen fix no longer works and I can’t seem to fix it. If their is not a fix soon then what is the point of playing this game widescreen…
Well .. there are issues plying GW2 in widescreen with eyefinity but once in game it is perfectly playable! Just darned uncomfortable with the UI placement and more than just a bit naff with the cut scenes being displaced. Making a character will probably be best if dropped into single screen mode then back to widescreen for playing.
Anet has been asked for a fix for this and we had a promise of a fix but we still wait!
You know I used an eyefinity setup to play GW2 since launch, and just recently switched over to a GTX 690 last week. Now I’m playing GW2 with nVidia surround and I wish I can undo the ui “fix” everyone seems to be clamoring for. I want my UI elements to be flushed to the edges of the screen, where they are out of the way. I don’t want them stuck in the center monitor because that really ruins the immersion, to have UI boxes cluttering up so much of my primary view when I have a bajillion pixels to work with. To each their own I guess, but having been in both camps, I honestly prefer the way the UI is in eyefinity.
Hopefully, they will add the option to let us snap the UI elements to the monitors of our choice. That way, everyone can be happy.
A customizable UI where elements can be arranged by the player has been suggested – I have ‘flushed’ my bookmarks though so do not have the links.
From what I have read, most eyefinity users want UI elements on the centre screen so they do not need to keep looking to the monitor(s) extreme edges.
To each their own indeed!
Personally, I’d be happy with character create / select and cut scenes or such displayed correctly, not zoomed or misplaced in a way that ‘breaks’ them and easy on the eye with the UI elements in game on the centre monitor. I would not be against movable UI elements though as this would appeal to more gamers it seems.
yes a fix for eyefinity would be nice!
