“I understand from your last few replies that this whole mix-up was an accident. I regret to inform you that we will not be able to assist you with this account.”

How is this possible? How can Anet or NCsoft understand that the whole mix-up was an accident and yet still be unable to reverse the actions they took at the beginning of the mix-up? Their actions resulted in my friends account (who has been playing from launch) being perma-banned. And every attempt to get support results in this same email template.

Thank you for the response, I was not expecting one so soon. =) I would like to say that I am not trying to stir up trouble or rage on anyone. I’m just a little scared that this could happen to me.

130323-002205 is the first ticket she opened; it was closed when she received an email explaining the reason for the ban.

130327-001507 is the second ticket she opened because she was not content with a perma ban on her account.

Well her particular situation was resolved. I will not say how or to what end.

It happened again! The same situation. This is insane.

I really don’t even know what to say or do.

The previous problem was closed, resolved is really to strong a word. She was told that, despite NCSoft admitting that mistakes where made on their end, her old account was deleted, never to be seen again, impossible to reactivate. She was informed that if she would like to continue playing the game she would need to buy a new copy of the game and create a new account. She was also told, in very specific words, that her card number and her email account were now on a ‘blacklist’ and that she would need to use a different card and a different email when she activated her new account. Sounds easy, right?

Well she did that, went though all the trouble of getting a prepaid credit card, charging it up with cash, creating a new email account, buying a new copy of the game, creating a new account with ANet or NCSoft and finally buying some gems from the gem store to speed up her progress in getting back what was taken from her by NCSoft. She spent two days crafting her new chars up to 80, running the in dungeons nonstop to regear so she could step back into her much missed, by us and her, normal spot on our wvw team. On the third day she tried to log in and was told her account was banned. AND FOR THE SAME REASONS AS THE FIRST TIME.

I just don’t understand how this can happen, I mean it is, by the definition of the word, FRAUD. You are just taking her money now, and telling her “tough luck sister”.

And what really makes me want to rage is the fact that she is probably the nicest and most responsive person ive ever met on this game, and I know for a fact that though out this entire process she has been nothing but cordial and understanding with the person whom she is in contact with at NCSoft. She understood and decided to move on from the first tragedy and try again. She followed NCSofts directions on how she was to go about creating a new account to the letter, but still she was banned again. She is doing nothing wrong and its really starting to seem like NCSoft is just playing with her.

And another thing, when she created this new account, everyone in our guild was so happy and impressed by her perseverance that many of us donated gold, items, crafting mats, and all the other things she needed to help her along in building her second account back to the status of her first. And now that all gone too.

I need an answer, this is FRAUD, plain and simple.

While I understand that you are upset, your version of this is actually not correct. The account was closed because of fraudulent activities on the credit card associated with that account. If this happens, we close the account and refund all transactions made.

This matter could have escalated to a legal issue. And I am very happy this got resolved. I was ready to take matters into my own hands, and yes I am a very good friend with the victim in this situation.

I understand all the safe guards you must have in place to protect not only yourselves but also us as players. Her situation was corrected and now that everyone is on the same page, all is well.

If there’s a three-peat you should make this into a web comic. All the stereotypes are represented (the anonymous banned “friend”, the emotional guildmate rescuing the online “girl”, the guild lawyer, etc).

But seriously, something sounds fishy. This “friend” has been struck by lightning twice for the same thing…the two accounts were independent of each other, right? There’s some hoodwinkery afoot here.

The only connection between the two accounts was her name. She was told that her email and card number where blacklisted. When she made the 2ed account, she found out her name was blacklisted too.
That was the problem, she was given a specific set of instruction on how to go about making a new account and she followed them to the letter. They neglected to tell her that she would have to put the account under someone else name.

I think it would be hard to tell someone that they can continue service just not with their email, card, or name. That is almost the same thing as saying you can not continue services (its short one IP address ban).
Its all been resolved though and ANet or NCSoft took the time to personally look at her situation. Once everything was on the table, it was plain to see who the victim was.

You may be on to something to, I could see a short story or something in this, the problem is, I’m boring and Aik is only tough on the forums. XD (hehe love u Aikyy).
700+ views is a bit much for this simple post.

It would have been a happy ending if the first account was given back after proving things of course. Regardless AT LEAST the second was given back and ncsoft admitted to their mistake. And fyi no one rescued the online girl she did it herself with their moral support. Sheesh not some damsel in distress. haha Still it has been one crazy two weeks…hopefully it is now over >_> let me play in peace!! I need to work so hard to get all of my things back Q_Q
