Guild Wars 2

Hey, so I have been having these problems all along although the first one has gotten much worse since imminently after the Halloween event. I have finally been motivated to post these since I want to do fractals and this is making it near impossible, since there is no “join your team” feature…

1. The game screen freezes, the computer starts making a horrifying sound, keyboard and mouse are nonreactive, and the only way to do anything is to hold the power button down until the computer shuts off and then restart it. It used to happen maybe once a day or every other day but since Halloween its been 3-4 times a day. Also this ONLY happens on GW2 and it happens at random. Sometimes 2 twice in an hour sometimes not for 4 hours. No I do not think it is my PC over heating, which is what I originally thought, but it runs fine for hours at and then other times it happens right 5 minutes after I turn on the game.

2. The Nividia problem, but I have done exactly what the sticky thread said to do and that was what my setting were already set to. Screen randomly goes black and then GW2 closes and message pops up saying something like “graphics card has crashed and has successfully recovered” I what I believe is the latest Nividia card and I just updated my drivers like two or three weeks ago and it has not helped.

If anyone can help me please that would be awesome. Or just put a “join my party” option for fractals. I don’t mind having to restart GW every other hour or so, its deffinaty annoying but its not a big deal in every other part of the game. Well except personal story, but I can live with that I just do them really fast.

Can’t really help you as GW2 is currently unplayable for me after the most recent patches. However… be warned, hard booting your PC a number of times a day is a very good way of knackering your hard drive, over time.

Thanks, yeah I knew it was bad but I guess I just got into the habit of it. Maybe I should just give up GW2 for awhile. Since I have no clue what else to do about it. And my pc is only 6 months old too.

This might sound horrible, but I’m glad I’am not alone on this. I’am having the exact same issues you’re having now, and to be honest, IF you want to keep playing without hurting your hardware, turn everything down to the lowest. It looks like trash but you should be able to play.
What I had before this total-crash sillyness, was the FPS-drops that occured several times a day, which really put everything out of the fun perspective. I’ve also had ontop of that, the unstable twitches the game makes when you turn, but that’s a minor problem compared to the rest.
My pc is 2 months old, and my first rig ever built and invested in.. the amount of money I spent in it is unspeakable, it’s all Anet’s fault after all, I can tell you that. No other game is really bringing this up so.

I’ll most likely be leaving the game for a while. Being a GW fan since day 1 isn’t really helping that but, what else can we do? Things are messed up as of now. And they’ve been so for me since the very first BWE. I’am just tired :/

Thanks if I can’t keep myself away I will deffinately try lowest settings, and sorry you are having the same problem. I should really take a break from GW anyway but it is pretty lame. I just hope that if arena net can do something about it that they will. But like you I have had these issues since BWE2 and its been months and nothing has been done so I geuss I shouldn’t hold my breath.

I have the same problem since some days ago. Windows crashes and reboot, or crashes and stay down. I have an NVDIA 550 Ti graphic card. Installed last drivers, but it seems it did not work. I did not test any other game, since I only play at GW2 at the moment, but maybe is time to return to other games. Some official news on this?
